This summer we will celebrate some of our favorite athletes in the world of collegiate track and field during the 2023 indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

Chante Clinkscale - Auburn

A native of Warren, Ohio, Chante Clinkscale struck out to compete on a big time level when she transferred from Dayton to Auburn. For the second straight season she qualified for the East First Round for an opportunity to compete at the NCAA championships. She ran her best all-weather time of 11.23 seconds in the opening prelimary round.

Clinkscale also competed in the final round of the 100 meters at the SEC championships. As a freshman at Dayton in 2022, Clinkscale was toast of the Atlantic 10, winning the 60 meters and 200 meters at the conference championships during indoor season. She followed that with victories in the 100 meters and 200 meters at the Alantic 10 Outdoor Championships. Clinkscale took home a third gold medal, winning the 400-meter relay with teammates Rayana Burns, Kaira Granger and Lauren Santiago.

During her high school career at Nile McKinley, Clinkscale was a five-time state champion sprinter.

Kilani Harvey - Eastern Michigan

Harvey wrapped up her collegiate career at Eastern Michigan, which was her third stop after stints at Highland Community College and Morehead State. The Orlando, Florida native had her best season on the NCAA Division I level in 2022, which was her first season at Eastern Michigan. At the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships she scored a gold medal in the 400-meter relay. Her relay squad of Saraiah Walkes, Mair Edwards and Keypathwa Gibson outlasted second place Akron which had three East Preliminary Round qualifiers.

Last year, Harvey was the lone sprinter from Eastern Michigan that qualified for and competed at the East Preliminary Round, for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships. She ran a career best 11.50 seconds at the Mid-American Conference Championships to earn the silver medal in the 100 meters.

This year was more of a struggle for Harvey but she didn't finish empty handed. At her final meet, she won the bronze in the 400-meter relay at the conference championships.

Tara Gologram - Robert Morris

During Tara Gologram's freshman season (2019), Robert Morris was still in the Northeast Conference. The Industry, Pennsylvania talent, waltzed into conference championship meet and snatched a bronze medal in the long jump.

Collecting medals wouldn't prove to be as easy as Gologram's team transferred to the Horizon League in 2021, where the jumper and sprinter had to deal with more steep competition as well as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the angst of the world that existed. For much of 2020 to 2022, Gologram never came close to getting a medal at any of her conference meet appearances. A sign of promise came at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships when she was three meters shy of a bronze medal in the long jump.

In 2023, Gologram snagged a runner-up finish in the long jump at the Horizon League Indoor Championships. During outdoor season she got greedy and succeeded with a second-place finish in the long jump and a third place result in the 400-meter relay with teammates Gabriella Parker, Hannah McDanel and Maddie Raymond.
