Florida State transfer, senior Faith Banks took home a silver medal in the 400 meters with a 52.88-second finish at the ACC championships. The final was ran in two sections as Banks competed in the first heat running her career best time which also briefly set the facility record of the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

"It's been great," Banks said about her first season at Florida State. "I've been staying injury free. That's really all I needed." Banks' 2022 outdoor season suffered a heartbreaking ending at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. She was the favorite to win the 400 meters before her body took a turn for the worse and prevented her from capturing the gold and advancing to the East Preliminary Round.

In the final heat of this year's ACC indoor 400 meters final, sophomore Megan McGinnis of Duke won at 52.57 seconds, upsetting defending champ Moriah Oliveira, a junior from Miami who placed third at 52.90 seconds.

Banks previously competed at Cincinnati where she earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 16 hundred meter as a freshman in 2019. Last season Banks was a silver medalist in the 400 meters at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. She also earned a gold medal as one fourth of the distance medley relay squad.

When asked if she would win the outdoor 400 meters conference championship, Banks simply answered, "For sure."
