Nya Bussey - Ohio State

Nya Bussey finished her outdoor season as the 100 meters and 400-meter relay Big Ten champ before earning All-American honors in both events. The Ohio State sprinter started her season with a strong showing at the Rod McCravy Memorial. She won the 60 meters final with a personal best time of 7.36 which is a top 50 finish in the NCAA. Since then Bussey has run times of 7.52 at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational and 7.58 at the Texas Tech Open. During the 2022 indoor season, Bussey competed in her first 60 meters final at the Big Ten meet. She looks to better her eighth-place performance of 7.43. Her time of 7.36 is currently eighth best in the conference this season.

Yasmeen Tinsley - Monmouth

After an acclaimed freshman season, that saw her claim silver medals in the 200 meters, 60-meter hurdles and 1,600-meter relay at the Metro Atlantic Indoor Track & Field Championships, before taking two more silvers in the 400-meter hurdles and 1,600-meter relay during the outdoor season, Yasmeen Tinsley has started her sophomore season in a successful way. She started her season with a 60-meter hurdles win at 8.73 at the Rutgers Holiday Classic. Two meets later Tinsley ran her career best time of 8.60 in a runner-up finish at the Penn Select 10 meet. Tinsley followed that effort with back-to-back wins at the Villanova Invitational and Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational respectively. This season Monmouth competes in the Colonial Athletic Association, where her top time of 8.60 currently sits sixth in the 60-meter hurdles rankings.

Indya Richards - Norfolk State

In 2022, Indya Richards earned a silver medal at the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.44. During the outdoor season the multi-talented performer earned silver medals at the MEAC championship meet in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, while also claiming a bronze medal in the 400-meter relay, for Norfolk State. In her fourth meet of this season Richards swept all three of her events. At the 60th Annual East Coast Invitational, Richards won the long jump (5.50), 60 meters (7.75) and 60-meter hurdles at 8.50. She's currently third in the MEAC standings with her 8.50 finish.

Kayla Sweeney - Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina had a parade of All-Americans last season, Kayla Sweeney was among them as a member of the 400-meter relay. She also earned a gold medal in the 400-meter relay at the Sun Belt Outdoor meet. Sweeney started her indoor season with a top three finish in the 60 meters at the Gamecock Openers where she ran 7.52. In her next meet, the Carolina Challenge, Sweeney ran a career best time of 7.46, in a runner-up finish. That performance currently has her tied with the fourth best finish so far this season in the Sun Belt Conference.

Nia Williams-Matthews - Youngstown State

Youngstown State's Nia Williams-Matthews is the reigning indoor triple jump champ of the Horizon League. She took the gold last season at 12.29 meters, while also claiming a third-place medal in the long jump at 5.67. During indoor season she was the runner-up in the triple jump at 12.10. Williams-Matthews is looking like the favorite to win the indoor gold again. She earned wins in two of her first three meets including a career best mark of 12.33 at the YSU Indoor Track & Field Invitational. Williams-Matthews is currently tops in the conference rankings with her 12.33 jump. She's one of just two jumpers in the Horizon League who has recorded a jump over 12 meters this season.
