NCAA Division I Top 10 High Jumpers

Texas A&M's Lamara Distin kicked off her season with a win in the high jump at the Woo Pig Classic, Dec. 3. So far she has the NCAA's best jump of 1.86, as she was the only jumper at the meet hosted at Arkansas to jump over 1.75. Last season Distin was second at the NCAA championship meet when she jumped 1.90. Distin also qualified for the NCAA indoor championship in the high jump, where she placed ninth.

Destiny Masters and Nissi Kabongo hold the second spot in the NCAA with jumps of 1.82. Masters' jump came at her home meet which was the Wichita State Shocker Multi. Kabongo of Stephen F. Austin made her mark at the Fastrak Collegiate Opener in Houston.

NCAA Division I Top 10 200 Meters

Kaylyn Heath led Kentucky to a win in the 200 meters at the Louisville Cardinal Classic with a time of 23.91. Her time is the best in the country thus far as she edged out teammate Masai Russell who finished at 23.93. This was Heath's first time finishing the 200 under 24 seconds. It was also the first open win of her career. Heath previously competed at Ohio State during the 2020 indoor season before transferring to Kentucky.

Eastern Kentucky's Quantasia Perry is third in the NCAA with a time of 24.00, also ran at the Cardinal Classic. Perry was the runner-up in the 200 meters at the Ohio Valley Championships, during outdoor season. She is ahead of Minnesota's Amira Young who is fourth in the NCAA at 24.06. She ran that winning time at the San Diego State Holiday Open & Multi. Last season Young was the Big Ten indoor champ in the 200 meters as well as the 60 meters.

NCAA Division I Top 10 3,000 Meters

Ceili McCabe started her track and field season with the NCAA's best 3,000 meters time of 8:52.52 at the 2021 Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, in Boston. She represented West Virginia well during the cross country season. She was third in the 6k at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. That was her only time not placing first during the cross country season. She was the winner of the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in the 6k. During last outdoor season, McCabe was sixth in the 3,000 meters steeple chase in the NCAA final.

North Carolina State's Katelyn Tuohy is second in the NCAA at 8:54.17. She placed fourth at this year's Sharon Colyer-Danville Season Opener, behind two unattached runners. Last outdoor season Tuohy placed third in the 5,000 meters and seventh in the 1,500 meters at the ACC championship meet. Her teammate Samantha Bush is third in the NCAA with a time of 8:54.37 in the same race.
