So another week of NFL games is gone. It was my best week so far, and there’s still a little room to improve. Week 10 produced down-to-the-wire games like the Lions vs Washington game, and beautiful blowouts like the Buccaneers vs Panthers game. It also produced a lot of W’s for me. Let’s get into the review.

My record for this week’s lineup of games was:

11-3

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: COLTS VS TITANS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 31-24

FINAL SCORE: 34-17

This game was pretty much everything I expected. Tannehill was 15-27 for 147 yards + 1 TD. These are good numbers, not great numbers and it, again, was not enough to push them past the Colts. As long as you have a good D and you don’t let Henry get 150+ on you, you’re fine against the Titans. The Titans were 5-0, now their 6-3. Guess who’s also 6-3? The Colts! Everybody’s talking about the Las Vegas Raiders being an underdog threat but the Colts are doing good things on offense, they have a solid defensive game and they’ve been winning. I can’t wait to see them play the Packers next week.

SUNDAY GAMES @ 1:00

BUCCANEERS VS PANTHERS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 28-24

FINAL SCORE: 46-23

Brady got sacked once. That’s the story of the game. I promise you you’re not going to beat Tom Brady if you give him time. They not only gave him time they allowed 210 on the ground, for a total of 544 total yards. Bad defense ruined them, and their disgraceful 3rd down efficiency ruined them. On the other side, I expected great play from this team and I got it. Brady picked them apart in the second half and really spread the plays out to multiple receivers. Overall it’s a great bounce-back victory for the Bucs.

EAGLES VS GIANTS (LOSS)

MY SCORE: 24-17

FINAL SCORE: 17-27

Really disappointed with the Eagles. This one’s hard to eat, because I knew the statistics of how awful Doug Peterson is off byes. I just thought that there was no way the Eagles cough this game up to the Giants... I was wrong. They had all the time to prepare for this game and didn’t do enough. Must give the Giants credit though, I stated last week that if the Giants don’t turn the ball over they have a chance to win any game on their schedule. They did just that Sunday.

TEXANS VS BROWNS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 28-31

FINAL SCORE: 7-10

I’m actually blown away at how low this score is. With two low ranked defenses I did not expect both offenses to struggle like they did here. It was a very ugly game to watch. Was not impressed with either team at all. The deciding factor in this game was Nick Chubb. He was finally back from his injury and between him and Hunt, they won the game for the Browns. 231 on the ground was enough to seal it.

JAGUARS VS PACKERS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 14-27

FINAL SCORE: 20-24

A win is a win, but I was not expecting such a close game. Turnovers help teams stick around and that’s what happened here. Very thankful (for my records sake the Packers were able to pull this one out. If the Packers have deep playoff hopes they need to figure out a better way to keep teams from scoring points on them. But like I said, a win is a win.

WASHINGTON VS LIONS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 10-24

FINAL SCORE: 27-30

Whew! *Wipes sweat from forehead* That was a close call. I mentioned last week that the Lions should panic if they couldn’t beat the Washington football team... Well, they barely beat them. Again, a win is a win, but this Lions team has been average for years. They’re constantly barely winning games, and losing far too many. Stafford is a great quarterback who has never actually been relevant. At some point you have to start asking questions, like “Maybe this is a management problem.” Cause I used to think it was a Jim Caldwell problem but Caldwell had a .563 win percentage. Their current coach Matt Patricia has a .271 win percentage.

SUNDAY GAMES @ 4:00-4:30

49ERS VS SAINTS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 17-35

FINAL SCORE: 13-27

*The Saints defense has entered the chat* Literally. The Saints look good this year. And they’ve been good the past few years but these last two games to me have proved their worth and dedication to come out on top in the NFC. I think they make the Super Bowl. The Seahawks have gone to crap, (but we’ll talk about that in the review below) Tampa’s been beat down twice, the Packers have things to figure out and the NFC East isn’t even a relevant division. I think maybe the Cardinals might give them trouble. I just don’t think they could give them enough.

SEAHAWKS VS RAMS (LOSS)

MY SCORE: 31-28

FINAL SCORE: 16-23

I’ll eat this. I knew there were warning signals with the Seattle defense. This defense is bad, and at times decent. What I failed to noticed was the 911 emergency signals flashing from the offensive line. I’m not going to blame Russell Wilson for his two picks. I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s always bad to give the ball away, but the man had too much pressure on him. I must give credit where credit is due, the Rams showed out. They forced turnovers when they needed to, moved the ball down the field, and only gave the ball up once. All of that stated, I haven’t trusted this Rams team once since their Super Bowl flop. I still don’t.

BILLS VS CARDINALS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 31-34

FINAL SCORE: 30-32

Kyler Murray’s good. In case you haven’t noticed. But the story of this game was what the Cardinals were able to do in the running game. The Bills are good enough to beat the Seahawks, not good enough to beat the Cardinals. That should tell you something about this Cardinals team. They’re well-rounded. I think the Cardinals defense is not even playing to their full potential, if they can unlock it they’ll be a decent threat to the Saints in the NFC.

CHARGERS VS DOLPHINS (WIN)

MY PREDICTION: DOLPHINS WIN

FINAL SCORE: 21-29

This is a great win for the Dolphins. I’m very excited to see if they build on this. Are they a realistic playoff threat? Not too sure yet. This is an awful Chargers team, which, in terms of numbers, they equaled with, really. Looking forward to seeing more of the Dolphins and less of the Chargers, who’ve got a lot of work on their hands this offseason.

BENGALS VS STEELERS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 17-27

FINAL SCORE: 10-36

More of a blowout than I expected. The offense has not been great for the Steelers yet, and that’s how they started the game. They did pick it up eventually. Ben had his best game of the season and Joe Burrow was in the grass a lot. This Steelers defense hardly ever fails to show up. You can’t panic if you’re a Bengals fan. You’ve got Joe Burrow who, again, despite being under heavy pressure many times does not give the ball away. Bad 3rd down efficiency really hit them though.

BRONCOS VS RAIDERS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 14-26

FINAL SCORE: 12-37

It’s a party in Las Vegas. They did what they needed and Drew Lock did everything else. You can’t throw 4 interceptions, under pressure or not. That’s what Drew Lock did and he ruined the Broncos chances. Period. Las Vegas, though is finding ways to win

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: RAVENS VS PATRIOTS (LOSS)

MY SCORE: 30-10

FINAL SCORE: 17-23

This one’s hard to eat to be honest. Of all the games to lose I didn’t expect it to be this one. Belichick pulled another one out of nowhere. Game plan? Let’s limit how many times Cam throws, by running it. All Cam had to do was not give the ball away and he accomplished that Sunday night. Unexpected outcome, but that’s not to say the Pats didn’t deserve it.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: VIKINGS VS BEARS (WIN)

MY SCORE: 28-23

FINAL SCORE: 19-13

The Bears can’t put up points. That’s the problem. 149 total yards might as well be 0. It’s not good enough. Foles has been under pressure too much this season, but no matter the excuse he hasn’t been efficient. The Vikings did enough to win, but I don’t think they had a good game. That’s ok, 5 of their last 7 games are winnable. They really ought to end this season with a winning record and finish second in their division. Not bad.

That concludes this week’s review. Much much better and I’m always looking to improve. Looking forward to bringing you guys my week 11 predictions Thursday morning.

That’s all for now.
