The annual Army-Navy game at Lincoln Field in Philadelphia always promises some of the best uniform designs seen in college football history. For the past few years, each jersey is always designed to showcase a historic event for both branches of the military. Now, without further ado, here's a list ranking the 10 best jerseys from the annual Army-Navy game.

1. 2018 Army

Army 17 - Navy 10

Nicknamed "The Big Red One", Army leaders created the 1st Infantry Division, serving towards the end of the First World War.The team's uniforms will feature bronze emblems on the collars of the jerseys to honor the 28th, 26th, 18th and 16th Infantry Regiments; 7th and 5th Field Artillery Regiments; and 1st Engineer Regiment. The bronze emblems resemble the same ones worn by soldiers in battle. During service, soldiers in the 28th Infantry Regiment earned the nickname the "Black Lions of Cantigny," which was given after a victorious 45 minute battle against the Germans. To honor them, the team's uniform will sport black lions on the shoulders of each player. The back of Army's helmets will feature a World War I-era flag featuring 48 stars, as Hawaii and Alaska were not states at that time.

2. 2019 Navy

Navy 31 - Army 7

The 2019 Navy jersey was designed by Under Armour to celebrate the 1960s era of Midshipmen football. Tributes to Navy legends Roger Staubach (12) and Joe Bellino (27) are featured on the helmets. Joe Bellino won the Heisman in 1960 and Staubach in 1963. They helped Navy reach a 4-0 record against Army between 1960 and 1963.The uniform features a navy blue base with gold accents across the jersey, with Navy anchors on the helmet. In a press release by Under Armour, "this era provided the appropriate inspiration needed to outfit the current Midshipmen squad for Saturday's rivalry game."

3. 2017 Army

Navy 13 - Army 14

The 2017 Army uniform tells us the story of the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division of World War II. The division was designed to serve in mountainous and arctic terrain, and they were well known for fighting against Axis troops in the Italian Alps. The jersey feature a full white base, coupled with olive green accents. Each jersey is given an authentic patch from the 10th Division's coat of arms and their motto "Climb to Glory" is added below. The division operated in harsh winter conditions. To stay in formation, a dark stripe was placed on the back of their uniforms known as the “Follow Me” stripe. A similar stripe was worn on the back of the players' helmets when they took the field against Navy. It snowed in Philly that year, so the jerseys served as a camouflage during the game.

4. 2016 Army

Army 21 - Navy 17

The Army uniforms for the 2016 game was flawless. They were designed to pay homage to the 82nd Airborne Division, which was a group of paratroopers from World War II. The uniform featured World War II era paratrooper suits with division patches, a 48-star American flag patch, player name tapes, and full-color authentic unit patches. Initial members of the division came from all 48 states which inspired their “All American” nickname and this will be honored with the iconic “AA” shoulder patch.

5. 2015 Navy

Army 17 - Navy 10

These 2015 Navy uniforms are really unique. The jersey is simple as it is, but the spotlight really has to go to the helmets. Each helmet features hand painted drawings of the 7 historic ships that form the U.S Naval Fleet. Each ship is assigned to a set group of positions, with a rationale given. Below is the full list provided by the Naval Academy.

Linebacker: Cruiser- Provides anti-air defense and packs the biggest punch of Naval surface ships representative of the linebackers on the Navy football team

• Defensive Back: Destroyer- Known for significant fire power, speed, and anti-missile defense as are Navy's defensive backs

• Wide Receiver: Submarine- Predominantly utilized as blockers, wide receivers play a key role in driving the Navy rush attack, taking on a stealth-like persona as they blend into the rhythm of the offense but bring significant fire power when called upon, just like a Naval submarine

• Lineman: Amphibious Assault Ships- Just as a lineman's job is to create a hole for a running back or linebacker, these ships are utilized to establish the "beach head" that enables the invading force to gain access and ultimately accomplish their objective

• Quarterback: Aircraft Carrier- The QB of the Naval Fleet, the aircraft carrier is the ultimate decision maker; the "quick strike" weapon of the Naval fleet

• Running Back: Littoral Combat Ship- Like running backs, these fast and nimble ships can navigate through both crowded shallow and deep waters

• Kicker/Special Teams: Minesweeper- Much like the specific task of the Navy special teams, this small ship has a unique mission of identifying and eliminating mines

6. 2019 Army

Navy 31 - Army 7

This uniform was designed to celebrate the 1st Cavalry Division and to the birth of air mobility that served during the Vietnam War. The words “UNITED STATES” formed a pant stripe in the same font that was painted on Huey helicopters during the Vietnam War. The back of each player's helmet featured unit numbers that was designed to honor one of the Division’s original regiments — the 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 12th.

So that's it for this one. These, in my opinion, are the best Army-Navy game jerseys. I think Army has the best jerseys since they're always incorporating different time periods of their history, with tributes in small details.
