Game 4

Hawks: 113

Knicks: 96

The Hawks took care of business at home the last two games and now we are looking to close it out in MSG. The series has gone exactly as I had hoped so far. Trae Young has created some enemies, the whole city of New York hates him, and they are giving the Hawks more and more of a reason to play even better. I love it.

It's the morning of Game 5 and the Hawks are one win away from moving on to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Just a few months ago, this team was at the very bottom of the rankings and relatively forgotten about. Now, we've got the league's attention and making a statement in these playoffs.

Sundays game in Atlanta was the easiest game to watch as a Hawks fan since the beginning of the series. For the first quarter and a half, both teams were playing pretty well. Trading buckets, it was neck and neck for a while. But around the midpoint in the second quarter, the Hawks decided to stop entertaining New York and put their foot on the gas for the remainder of the game. So we got exactly what we needed, took care of business at home and now we have a two game advantage. It goes to show how important that game one win was for the Hawks. Honestly, who knows what the series would look like if Trae Young didn't tear the heart out of New York's soul with .9 seconds left in that first game. There's a very good chance this series would be tied or even worse if it weren't for that first win on the road.

Tonight we're back in the big apple with the opportunity to close out the series right in front of the same crowd who fueled the rage that the Hawks have been playing with. Nothing would be more satisfying to me than to see the Hawks win in the Mecca tonight. I just don't know if I'd rather see them completely blow out the Knicks or if it would be even better to have a comeback and win at the buzzer or something. Who knows how it would happen, but all I'm saying is that the Knicks fans in New York deserve to have their souls ripped out again. They got their one win in game two but now its time to put them to sleep officially.

Also, if you go back and read my very first blog about this series and look at my series predictions you'll find that Im 100% so far. I had the Hawks win, lose, win, win. And that's exactly what's happened so far. Pretty incredible right? I know. If only the Barstool Sportsbook would be in the south, I'd be pretty comfortable right now. Anyway, the conflict right ow is that I originally had the Knicks winning game 5. So, obviously I want the Hawks to close out the series tonight but that would ruin my chances of a perfect bracket. Dang. That's the epitome of being a sports fan. No matter how good it is going with your team, there's always something to mess it up.

Either way though, the Hawks are one win away from playing the 76ers and there's no better way to close out a series than doing it right in front of the most annoying crowd in the league. It's gonna be a long day of anticipation and mental preparation. I've got work while the game is on tonight s0 after I type this blog Im hitting the record button on the game and getting to it.

Go Hawks.
