The Jacksonville Jaguars get something they haven't had in 400 days, and Aaron Rodgers tells Bears fans what they already know

After 400 days, the Jacksonville Jaguars finally won a game! The Jags served as the home team in their meeting with the Miami Dolphins, who were also disappointing--entering Week 6 at 1-4 after a season of assumed improvement. Tua Tagovailoa returned as the Dolphins' starter, but he made mistake after mistake in the outing in London. Despite this, the Dolphins led 20-17, until Matthew Wright's 53 yard FG curved to the left and went through. After a terrible 4th down conversion attempt by Miami, Jacksonville got into FG range, and Wright made another one, this time giving the Jaguars a walk-off win.

For the Jaguars, this was their first win since they defeated the Indianapolis Colts on September 13, 2020--the opening Sunday of that season. They had lost 20 straight games since then, the 2nd longest streak since the 1970 merger, but Matthew Wright's kicks ended that terrible skid. As for the Dolphins, they are now 1-5, and officially the worst team in the AFC due to their loss to the Jaguars.

So in case you haven't heard, or haven't been paying attention for the last 13 seasons, Aaron Rodgers owns the Chicago Bears. Week 6 featured the latest chapter in the NFL's oldest rivalry, as well as the first meeting between these two storied clubs, and it saw the Bears score first, but end up dominated by both sides of the Packers' team. With the Packers up 17-14, Rodgers tossed one of his signature bombs to Davante Adams, and the drive ended with Rodgers running it in for the 2nd time this season, with Mason Crosby (definitely recovered from his near-nightmare performance in Cincinnati) making it 24-14 with the extra point.

It was after the TD that Rodgers had his moment. After his signature belt signal, Rodgers shouted the following:

"I've owned you all my (expletive) life! I still own you! I still own you!"

Rodgers later explained that he saw a female Bears fan flipping him off, and that got the GOAT's goat--jokingly saying that he "didn't know what came out of his mouth next." We all know what came out of Rodgers' mouth, and it was the absolute truth. The Bears cannot do a thing against Rodgers. Chicago is 5-22 against Rodgers. Even Bears fans know that Rodgers has their number. In any event, the Packers' vital win was their 5th straight, and it has doubled their lead in the NFC North.

While Week 6 started with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers barely surviving the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football, the theme for Sunday seemed to be blowouts, as there were quite a few of them. The Los Angeles Rams blasted the New York Giants, the Kansas City Chiefs did the same to the Washington Football Team, and the Cincinnati Bengals bounced back from their heartbreaking loss with their blowout win over the Detroit Lions, who are now 0-6. We did get more overtime, though, as the Carolina Panthers fell to the Minnesota Vikings, 34-28, after the Vikings' opening drive ended with a touchdown. For the Panthers, this was their third straight loss after a 3-0 start had some feeling that they could be a force in the NFC South. Now, this team really looks lost.

The Dallas Cowboys also won in overtime in spite of the incompetence of head coach Mike McCarthy (we Packers fans warned you about him, Dallas), but the OT game I want to talk about is the one in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Steelers needed overtime and the efforts of TJ Watt to defeat a Seattle Seahawks team who was without Russell Wilson and Chris Carson, and had Geno Smith at QB. Yes, Geno Smith is still a thing. I myself thought this would be another blowout, especially since the Steelers were at home. This was not the case. When it was scoreless after the first quarter, I should have figured that the Steelers weren't taking this game seriously. It almost bit them in the backside.

Overtime occurred, and it saw TJ Watt take down Geno to force a punt. After Pittsburgh's drive stalled, Seattle had the ball again, but once again, it was Watt to the rescue, sacking Geno and causing a fumble recovered by the Steelers deep in FG range, leading to Chris Boswell making the game winner. The Steelers are back at .500, but the problems are still there. They do have a bye next week, so they have plenty of time to fix what needs to be fixed.

From a defensive beast to an offensive one: Derrick Henry. What can I say about Derrick Henry that hasn't already been said? He is, without question, the best running back in the NFL, as well as the scariest. 143 yards, three touchdowns. Just another day in the office for the man dubbed "King Henry." The Tennessee Titans pulled off a surprising win over the Buffalo Bills, 34-31, on Monday Night Football, improving to 4-2--which is also Buffalo's record. In addition, this week saw the Las Vegas Raiders win their first game following the ousting of former coach Jon Gruden, and the Baltimore Ravens blasted the Los Angeles Chargers for their fifth straight win.

Well, football fans, we made it. We are now 1/3 through the 2021 NFL season. At that mark, the AFC sees the Ravens standing tall at 5-1, while the Chargers, Bills, and Titans each lead their respective divisions at 4-2. The Raiders and Bengals each have those same records, while the Chiefs and Steelers appear to be heading back in the right direction. In the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals remain unbeaten after their win over the Browns, while the Packers, Buccaneers, and Cowboys each have 5-1 records. Dallas has a stranglehold over the NFC East, though the Cards and Rams are in a tight race in the NFC West.

Week 7 will kick off with the Cleveland Browns hosting the Denver Broncos in a very important Thursday Night Football matchup. Both teams are 3-3, and even though it's still relatively early, this is an important game for future playoff position in the AFC. Sunday Night Football will feature the San Francisco 49ers (who are coming off a bye) hosting the Indianapolis Colts, and on Monday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks will host the New Orleans Saints (who are also coming off a bye). Six teams will have byes: the Jacksonville Jaguars (coming off their first win), the Buffalo Bills (coming off their heartbreaking Monday Night loss), the Los Angeles Chargers (coming off their blowout loss), and the three teams who won in overtime--the Dallas Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Minnesota Vikings.
