The New York Giants (4-13) endured through a woeful season last year that was filled with injury. The offense was hit the hardest with season-ending injuries suffered by WR Malik Nabers and RB Cam Skattebo.

Although the Giants finished in last place in the NFC East Division, the team did win their last two games of the season. Having a "do not quit" attitude along with hiring John Harbaugh to be the new head coach will definitely allow for the team to improve this season.

New York was also able to add some new players to the roster in this year's NFL Draft.

Round 1, Pick 4: Arvell Reese - LB - Ohio State. 6'4", 241 lbs (69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 2 pass deflections).

Reese should start right away at outside linebacker. He is quick enough to chase down runners and make tackles from sideline to sideline and to get into the backfield quickly when deciding to rush the passer. His versatility and his speed will allow for him to be placed all over the field on defense, which will allow for him to exploit weaknesses against opposing offenses.

Round 1, Pick 10: Francis Mauigoa - OT - Miami (FL). 6'5", 329 lbs (1 rushing TD last season).

Mauigoa started at right tackle for the past three seasons for the Hurricanes. He will be given every chance to start along the right side of the offensive line at either tackle or at guard.

Round 2, Pick 5: Colton Hood - CB - Tennessee. 5'11", 193 lbs (50 tackles, 1 INT return for TD, 1 fumble return for TD, 8 pass deflections).

Hood adds depth and versatility to the Giants secondary because he is able to press a receiver well in man-to-man defense along with being able to close on receivers in zone defense. He also has a knack of turning turnovers into touchdowns.

Round 3, Pick 10: Malachi Fields - WR - Notre Dame. 6'4", 218 lbs (36 rec, 630 yds, 17.5 yds/rec, 5 TD).

Fields is a tall possession receiver that runs fluid routes. He should see plenty of time in the red zone due to his height because he will have a two to three inch height advantage on defenders.

Round 6, Pick 5: Bobby Jamison-Travis - DT - Auburn. 6'3", 328 lbs (36 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 pass deflections).

Jamison-Travis adds depth between the tackles on defense. He excels at defending against the run by holding his ground against opposing offensive linemen.

Round 6, Pick 11: J.C. Davis - OT - Illinois. 6'4", 322 lbs.

Davis will add depth to the offensive line. Davis also started for four years in college so his previous experience should buy him some time to develop by the Giants coaching staff.

Round 6, Pick 12: Jack Kelly - LB - BYU. 6'2", 240 lbs (55 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 2 forced fumbles).

Kelly was a highly productive player in college at outside linebacker. He will add even more depth at outside linebackers that also pass rush on this team. He possibly could be moved to inside linebacker because he is undersized as a pass rusher even though he rushed well in college. He also adds depth at special teams.

Overview: Having two of the top 10 picks in this Draft will impact the roster in a positive way. Adding Reese will help prevent the big plays the Giants defense gave up rather consistently on the weak side. Mauioga will add more stability to the offensive line. Depth was also added at wide receiver and in the secondary.

Grade: B+.
