The Los Angeles Rams (12-5) just missed out on making it to the Super Bowl with a 31-27 loss to NFC West Division foe Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game. Instead of resting on their laurels, the Rams is absolutely going for broke this upcoming season.

During the offseason, Los Angeles traded four draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for shutdown corner Trent McDuffie. However, the Rams were not done because they made the biggest trade of the offseason by acquiring All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns for DE Jared Verse and three draft picks.

After all of the trading was done, the Rams were left with five draft picks for this year's NFL Draft. Here is a look at who Los Angeles selected back in April.

Round 1, Pick 13: Ty Simpson - QB - Alabama. 6'1", 211 lbs (305 comp, 473 att, 64.5 comp %, 3,567 yds, 28 TD, 5 INT, 93 rush yds, 2 rush TD).

Simpson made the most of his only starting season with the Crimson Tide by leading them to qualifying for the College Football Playoff. He is an accurate passer that was able to keep his interception total low throughout the season.

He really did not show too much moxie in the pocket except for when Alabama overcame a 17-0 deficit to win 23-21 against Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff. However, he absolutely laid an egg a week later in a 38-3 loss against Indiana.

Fortunately, he will be the backup QB to Matthew Stafford this season because he will need time to develop how to execute better from week to week with more consistency.

Round 2, Pick 29: Max Klare - TE - Ohio State. 6'4", 246 lbs (43 rec, 448 yds, 10.4 yds/rec, 2 TD).

Klare is a solid TE, but he will have to fight to make this roster because the Rams regularly used four TE's throughout last season.

Round 3, Pick 29: Keagen Trost - OT - Missouri. 6'5", 311 lbs.

Trost started for the past two seasons in college at tackle. Trost will add depth that is needed at offensive tackle at this time because left tackle Alaric Jackson was arrested during the offseason for domestic violence. With this arrest being Jackson's second domestic violence offense, he could possibly be suspended for six games during this season. Sometimes, it's the person that is closest to you that hurts you the most.

Round 6, Pick 16: CJ Daniels - WR - Miami (FL). 6'2", 202 lbs (50 rec, 557 yds, 11.1 yds/rec, 7 TD).

Daniels will add depth to the WR rotation for the Rams. He is able to make tough catches in traffic over the middle so watch for him in the red zone. He could see even more time than originally planned because WR Puka Nacua could possibly due to off-the-field issues. Sometimes, the fame can come too fast with some not being able to handle it initially.

Round 7, Pick 16: Tim Keenan III - DT - Alabama. 6'1", 327 lbs (16 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 punt return for 12 yds).

Keenan adds depth at defensive tackle for the Rams. He could possibly help out the team on run plays because he is able to take on double teams in the trenches. Head coach Sean McVay might even put him in a trick play or two since he had an unplanned punt return last season.

Overview: The Rams addressed their two biggest weaknesses last season by acquiring McDuffie and Garrett on defense. All five players that were drafted will add the necessary depth for another Super Bowl run this season.

Grade: Due to the trades, A+.
