NFL 2026 Draft Review: Jacksonville Jaguars
Will the Jags remain on top in the AFC South
The Jacksonville Jaguars (13-4) were able to turn things around last season by finishing the regular season with an eight-game winning streak. This winning streak was necessary for the Jags to win the AFC South Division title by one game over the Houston Texans. The Jaguars ending up losing in the NFL Playoffs 27-24 against the Buffalo Bills.
Jacksonville fans are hoping that the team can maintain that momentum into this upcoming season. The Jaguars will be in a good position to build upon their depth because they had 10 picks in this year's NFL Draft.
Round 2, Pick 24: Nate Boerkircher - TE - Texas A&M. 6'4", 245 lbs (19 rec, 198 yds, 10.4 yds/rec, 3 rec TD, 1 rush TD).
Boerkircher is a blocking TE that needed to be added to the roster so that Brenton Strange can solely focus on being one of the top pass-catching TE's in the NFL.
Round 3, Pick 17: Albert Regis - DT - Texas A&M. 6'1", 295 lbs (49 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 3 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble).
Regis brings added depth to the defensive tackle position. He is able to cause disruption due to his low center of gravity.
Round 3, Pick 24: Emmanuel Pregnon - OG - Oregon. 6'4", 314 lbs.
Pregnon played at tackle and at guard throughout his college career. He will add depth to the Jaguars offensive line.
Round 3, Pick 36: Jalen Huskey - DB - Maryland. 6'1", 196 lbs (72 tackles, 4 INT, 1.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections)
Huskey played at safety and at nickel back for the Terrapins last season. He is able to make tackles against the run and is able to break quickly on pass attempts over the middle. He will add depth to a solid secondary.
Round 4, Pick 19: Wesley Williams - DE - Duke. 6'4", 256 lbs (44 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 1 fumble recovery).
Williams is a strong defender against the run, so he could see some time on rushing downs on the edge.
Round 5, Pick 24: Tanner Koziol - TE - Houston. 6'6", 247 lbs (74 rec, 727 yds, 9.8 yds/rec, 6 TD).
Koziol led the Big 12 conference in receptions last season. He is more of a possession receiver at TE. He could see some time on passing downs as the second TE if Jacksonville chooses to show opposing defenses different formations from time to time.
Round 6, Pick 10: Josh Cameron - WR - Baylor. 6'1", 220 lbs (69 rec, 872 yds, 12.6 yds/rec, 9 TD, 141 punt return yds).
Cameron is really good at catching jump balls in the red zone. He will be competing to see some time at wide receiver in those situations or in the return game.
Round 6, Pick 22: CJ Williams - WR - Stanford. 6'1"205 lbs (59 rec, 749 yds, 12.7 yds/rec, 6 TD).
Williams will also be competing for time at wide receiver although the Jaguars are loaded at WR right now. Williams and Cameron are probably fighting for the same spot on the roster.
Round 7, Pick 17: Zach Durfee - DE - Washington. 6'5", 256 lbs (37 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 2 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble).
Durfee adds even more depth at defensive end. He will probably fighting with Williams for a spot on the roster.
Round 7, Pick 24: Parker Hughes - LB - Middle Tennessee State. 6'1", 225 lbs (100 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 INT, 2 pass deflections).
Hughes was effective against the run and the pass last season. He will add depth at inside linebacker for the Jaguars.
Overview: By looking at how the Jags drafted, they selected players solely based upon depth. The depth on offense becomes even more intriguing based upon the multiple options that can be used by coach Liam Coen. The team will be passing even more than last season since no running backs were drafted. Grade: D+.
