So, the New England Patriots v Bills will meet for the third time this season. After 17 games; it is time for the NFL playoffs. On Saturday, there will 2 wild card games; 3 games on Sunday, and for the first time, one game will be on Monday.

New England Patriots v Bills

Since the Bills have captured their 2nd title in the last 2 years; do they have the advantage?

In the first place, this will be the first playoff game since Tom Brady left the team. To read more on how the Patriots’ last playoff game went; be sure to visit my Tom Brady #12 Patriots Journey post.

Of course, a lot has changed since Brady headed South. In Brady’s first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneer; he led them to a Super Bowl trophy.

Mac Jones #10

Now, a year has come and gone and the team parted ways with Cam Newton and signed the Rookie Quarterback, Mac Jones. In his rookie season, Mac Jones has shown a lot of confidence. However, he has also made many mistakes which isn’t surprising as a rookie in the NFL.

In his first year with the team; Jones had big shoes to fill. Many sports analysts compared him to Tom Brady. Since both Quarterbacks had similarities in their first 12 games as rookie Quarterbacks; is Jones on pace to lead the team in the same direction as Brady?

Indeed, time will tell… But, in his rookie season; Jones has made some critical mistakes. In the same way, Jones says he is responsible for some of the games the team has lost. Jones had said, “he needs to read out the plays better and get the ball to the right guy,”

New England Patriots v Bills – Regular Season

In the regular season, the Patriots were impressive in their first meeting with the Bills. However, since then, the Bills offense has looked impressive. After the Bills lost to the Patriots; the team won 4 straight games.

In the second meeting of the season; the Patriots lost 33 – 21 to the Bills; and it looked as if the Patriots had taken many steps backwards. For example, the Pats defense gave up a lot of yards in their passing game and completion percentage in their 2nd meeting to the Bills.

New England Patriots v Bills – Super Wild Card Weekend

Though the Patriots ended their 2020 season with a losing record and missed the playoffs; the Patriots seem like they have regressed over the last month or so.

In their last 4 games, the Patriots lost 3 out of 4 games.. However, that may not be a bad thing. Hence, the Pats were 2 – 4 in the beginning of the season before winning 7 straight.

Will the Bills be able to move the ball as well as it did in their last meeting with the Patriots? Or, will Bill Belichick come up with a game plan to triumph? And, can the Pats turn it around and go on another winning streak?

Patriots v Bills – Super Wild Card Prediction

In the regular season, the teams were 1 – 1. Now, the slate is wiped clean.

When the Patriots won against the Bills in the first meeting; I had high hopes for this year’s team. In fact, I was already thinking they may be headed to the Super Bowl? But realistically, the Patriots last several losses has me worried that Mac Jones and the team are not ready for the big stage yet.

Will the Patriots defense turn around to keep the Bills offense from putting up a lot of points? So, the game schedule is as follows:

Saturday, January 15th – New England Patriots v Bills at 8:15 p.m. on CBS

In summary, this matchup will pit two division rivals. Additionally, both teams defense have been top in the NFL. With the Bills defense allowing less points than the Patriots; both teams finished in points allowed and turnovers.

Because I’m a New England Patriots fan; I’m hoping my team plays better than they have recently. Of course, I have my fingers crossed that the Pats will win; however, sadly, I don’t have the confidence this team will win against the surging Buffalo Bills.

As always, I welcome your comments on what your prediction is for the New England Patriots v Bills – Wild Card?

Finally, whether the Pats win or lose; this should be a great game for these 2 Divisional rivals.
