As we all know, the NBA's new season is about to begin, and every time before the start of the new season, the league will happen some crazy transactions. The American media "F" wrote an article today predicting four crazy deals that will likely happen before the 22-23 season. Two of them are related to the Lakers, take a look.
The first one, the Heat and Lakers 2 for 2, take Lowery for Willis
The details of the transaction are as follows.
Miami Heat get: West brook, 2027 first-round draft pick
Los Angeles Lakers get: Kyle Lowery, Duncan Robinson
The deal has multiple benefits for the Heat. First, they get Willis' expiring contract and a first-round pick of good value to free up Lowery and Deng Roe's long-term contracts. In addition, Willis is a very healthy and tough player with a lot of fight in him, and he fits the Heat culture very well. Willis can participate in the team's organization and breakout offense, taking the burden off of Tyler Herr, Forbade and Butler. Sp can convince Willow to play as much defense as possible in the Heat system, and if Willow becomes a passable outside defender, he will become a more valuable player.
For the Lakers, Lowery and Duncan Robinson are both strong players. Lowery can be the Lakers' second ball handler, helping his teammates score more easily and easing the pressure on James to hold the ball, and he and Black Bay sit on the outside, improving the Lakers' outside defense. And Deng Lou's 3-point ability is very strong, can improve the Lakers' offensive space.
The second, Kings and Suns 2 for 1 trade
Kings get: Chris Paul
Suns get: Fox, 2024 first round draft pick
At first glance, this trade seems unbelievable, but if it happens there is a reason for it. Paul, who led the young Suns all the way to the NBA Finals in 2020-21, has plenty of playoff experience, and his desire to win is something the Kings desperately lack on a mental level and is worth the Kings' money. Due to Paul's age, Fox and a first-round pick are the chips the Kings will have to shell out to complete the deal. Paul would take the offensive burden off the shoulders of the team's young players, and his leadership and experience would be crucial for the Kings, who have failed to make the playoffs for 16 consecutive seasons.
Obviously, it's a solid gain for the Suns from a value standpoint, as they'll get a young point guard and a decent value draft pick as compensation for a team that doesn't suffer greatly in terms of strength.
The third, Pelicans-Bucks 3-for-1 trade
New Orleans Pelicans get: Valkyrie Irving
Brooklyn Nets get: CH McConnell, Axon Hayes, 2023 first round pick
This 3-for-1 deal will certainly boost the Pelicans' talent level and star power. Irving is the perfect upgrade to CH McConnell on the basketball court, as he is a better shot creator and ball handler. Irving's ability to shoot without the ball and with precision will better help Ingram and Zion thrive in the game.
Irving's contract with the Bucks expires next year, and the team's negotiations with him for an extension have ended in failure. CK McConnell will provide the Bucks with a scorer and an organizational core to help them win in the moment, while the Bucks will also get a promising young big man in Axon Hayes, who shot 63.4 percent from the field last season and is an athletic interior player who can play the four or five, and whose arrival can somewhat He's an athletic interior player who can play the four or five, and his arrival will somewhat compensate for the Bucks' weak interior. And the 2023 first-round pick would allow the Bucks to go after a good young player. For the Bucks, this is the best trade chip Irving can get.
The fourth trade: Hawks Lakers 4 for 1 trade
Atlanta Hawks get: Anthony Davis
Los Angeles Lakers get: John Collins, Capella, 2023 first-round pick from the Hawks, 2024 first-round pick from the Kings to the Hawks
The Hawks have upgraded their back court with the acquisition of Murray. This 4-for-1 deal is certainly a way to get a more powerful helper for Brae Young. The Browns can improve the Hawks' talent level, and he is a lineman who can play on both the offensive and defensive ends. Compared to Capella, the Brow is not only a great rim protector, he also has the mobility to defend multiple positions. On the offensive end, he is a great low-post scorer and can also provide some space for his teammates to break through with his outside shooting.
The loss isn't too big for the Lakers either. Collins is an all-around big man who is an athletic finisher at the rim and has some ability to pull up in space as well. Collins can play as the Lakers' starting power forward, while Capella provides the Lakers with an excellent defensive center who has a high level of rebounding ability and is efficient scoring near the basket. The Lakers didn't lose much strength inside, and James was able to get back to his familiar 3 and play to his best advantage. The two first-round picks sent by the Hawks are important to the Lakers, with the King's 2024 first-round pick being particularly valuable.
Obviously, the deal carries some risk for both teams, but at the same time, the deal could end up being a win-win for them. Which of the four deals above do you think will eventually happen?
