NBA Playoffs Recap: Celtics dethroned the Heat and advanced to the NBA Finals

And the new…Eastern Conference champions…

The Boston Celtics!!!!

The Celtics are heading to the NBA Finals since 2010!

After a grueling series against the depleted Miami Heat, the Celtics overcame adversity and won the “Bob Cousy Eastern Conference Championship" trophy. In addition, the 1st “Larry Bird Inaugural Eastern Conference Finals MVP” is none other than a rising superstar, Jayson Tatum. Rising star Jaylen Brown also stepped up huge when it counted with his timely shots.

The “Defensive Player of the Year” Marcus Smart made key defensive stops and became a solid shooter when needed. The unsung hero is Derrick White, who in the last 3 games has been the Celtics’ anchor scorer they desperately needed.

Along with White, the play of the game was the epic block by Al Horford. As a result, the block shown below allowed the Celtics to make a run and maintain their lead throughout the game. The Heat never led the entire game and allowed the Celtics to get wherever they want on the floor. Give the HEat credit for their hustle and effort to stay in the game.

The person who allowed the Heat to stay in the game was Jimmy Butler, who played every minute and never rested. Jimmy was the only warrior on that team and was willing to sacrifice his body to keep his team from falling behind. In the end, too much hero ball and a missed opportunity to go overtime allowed the Celtics to win the game.

Upon this victory, the Celtics will meet up with the experienced championship Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. The Celtics-Warriors matchup is the most anticipated series in recent memory.

Defense versus offense.

Jayson Tatum versus Stephen Curry.

Marcus Smart versus Draymond Green.

An even matchup that will end up in 7 games at best.

NBA Finals Predictions

From the opening tip and beyond, each game will be close. There is a 50% chance either team can go off and blow each other during the series. In the end, it all comes to which coach can execute down the stretch and which team wants it more.

From experience, we all know that Warriors coach Steve Kerr is known for executing games when it matters most (except in both the 2016 & 2019 NBA Finals). Other than that, the Warriors are primed to take back their championship. It's funny how Golden State went through trials and tribulations to return to the Finals. Also, it feels like they have never left, which is a scary thought.

This is the reason why the Warriors should be the favorite to win it all. The only way if Golden State loses is the careless turnovers and shots not falling. Nevertheless, they are ready to go. As for the Boston Celtics, they too are destined to win the title and bring their franchise its 18th championship. The only way for the Celtics to win is through their tenacious defense and unrelenting offense by Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and others.

The Winner is…

If the Celtics lose, it will be due to the Warriors’ overwhelming offense that not even Boston can overcome. In the end, the Celtics-Warriors series will go 7 games and I choose Boston to win the NBA title.

If you guys disagree with my prediction, let me know in the comments and share your prediction on which team deserves the title. I cannot wait to witness greatness on display for both Jayson Tatum and Stephen Curry. This is Steph’s chance to finally win his first Finals MVP. If his fellow “splash brother” Klay Thompson happens to win it instead of him, Steph’s legacy may be in question.

So far, both Andre Iguodala and Kevin Durant won it. Although I will be rooting for Boston, I am cheering for Steph to win won if all went south for the Celtics.
