Breaking News!!

NBA Champion Kyrie Irving will be testing the free-agent market for the first time in his career. When I saw that Kyrie was trending on Twitter, I had to write about this story.

According to NBA Insider of the Athletic Shams Charania on Twitter, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets are at an “impasse” about his future in Brooklyn, which will clear the way for the NBA Champion to consider testing the free-agent market. Plus, among teams chosen by Kyrie are both the Lakers and Knicks, which are expected to emerge among potential suitors.

This is huge news!

Not only will Kyrie leave the Nets, but he also has a chance to either go to the Knicks or reunite with his 2016 championship former teammate, 4-time NBA champion LeBron James in LA.

Upon this epic news, there are a couple of scenarios to look forward to in terms of Kyrie playing with both the Knicks and Lakers.

Possible Scenarios

First off, the “cursed” New York Knicks.

As far as playing in Madison Square Garden, Kyrie will put on an absolute show and sell out the arena with his magistery of the basketball. Let it be known, that Kyrie is one of the most skilled players of all time. If Kyrie were to play for the Knicks, the arena will be filled every night with celebrities.

If somehow Kyrie plays long-term, and he one day retires there, the city of New York will put up a statue as a remembrance of him. That is how desperate New York fans are willing to take ever since NBA Legend Patrick Ewing played there over 25 years ago.

Here is a kicker.

If Kyrie’s “bestie” Kevin Durant decided to request a trade and join him with the Knicks, there will be multiple teams that need to be involved in a trade that will require a threshold of assets. I am taking tons of 1st round picks, a couple of stars, and a few superstars to match.

The dynamic duo may very well join forces and finally play for MSG. If this move became true, ESPN First Take host Stephen A. Smith will be the happiest man alive. He will have no choice but to apologize to Kyrie and root for his team.

Stephen A may very well predict that they will win the title once both Kyrie and KD teamed up with the Knicks. That would be very intriguing and entertaining for New York fans. Nevertheless, Kyrie decides to decide his fate.

Meanwhile, the "Lost" Angeles Lakers.

Last season was by far the Lakers' worst season in their franchise history. There were chemistry issues, lack of leadership, no togetherness, no will to win games, lack of closers, and no accountability for each player from top to bottom. Now, since the Lakers will be re-tooling their roster, we pray that they go younger and maintain both LeBron and NBA champion Anthony Davis as their veterans until Kyrie comes to town.

If Kyrie decides to play for the Lakers, do you know what this will mean for him? A chance to represent a historic championship franchise that embodies winning titles. A franchise that once upon a time had the greatest shooting guards in Lakers' history, the one, and only Kobe Bryant.

Fun fact, Kobe himself trained Kyrie, and wouldn't it be amazing to see Kyrie in that purple and gold as the Lakers' closer? The nostalgia of witnessing lobs from Kyrie to LeBron or Kyrie to AD? The possibilities are endless in this scenario. At the end of the day, it all comes to team building, chemistry, and accountability for all players, including Kyrie.

Takeaways

My takeaway from this crazy news is Brooklyn has had enough of Kyrie's unavailability and is willing to move on from him. If Kyrie chose to opt-in, the only way for the front office to grant this decision is to do a sign-and-trade that would involve Russell Westbrook reuniting with his former Thunder teammate, Kevin Durant.

This begs to question if the trade for Kyrie-Russ becomes official, which reunion would you rather root for next season?

Kyrie and Lebron or KD and Russ?

Let's just say, next season will be one hell of a treat for all NBA fans around the world. Imagine witnessing Christmas games between Nets and Warriors or Warriors and Lakers?

Are you guys pumped for this upcoming free agency?

You know I am!

In the meantime, let's sit back and watch how this all plays out.
