The 2nd entrant in the Knockouts Knockdown tournament is an up and coming star currently competing in NWA

The Knockouts Knockdown news keeps on coming! Just one day after announcing that Mercedes Martinez will enter the Knockouts Knockdown tournament, Impact Wrestling announced a second entrant: Lady Frost. I figured Lady Frost would be part of this, so this news has me immensely elated, as Lady Frost is one of my newest faves in women's wrestling.

Lady Frost has been competing for three years, with her first match actually taking place in WWE, as she appeared under the name, Jamie Frost, and faced off against Asuka. Lady Frost has competed in several different promotions, and has made a few appearances in All Elite Wrestling, as well as an appearance on Impact as an open challenge opponent for Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo. However, her regular promotion in recent months has been the National Wrestling Alliance.

If I recall, Lady Frost's first bit of NWA action was a singles match against Taryn Terrell, which I remember because Lady Frost was trying to get Taryn to enter the ring in response to Taryn's cowardly heel act. I also remember loving what I was seeing from Lady Frost in not only her match against Taryn, but her bout against another of my NWA faves in Jennacide. Lady Frost has been turning heel in recent weeks, as she has been adopting a more arrogant attitude in recent matches, including her appearance at NWA EmPowerr in August. At the event, Lady Frost was part of the Women's Invitation, and if I recall correctly, she was the last entrant and she was biding her time outside the ring.

This is an amazing acquisition for Impact's Knockouts Knockdown event. Lady Frost will definitely bring her passion, intensity, and her immense drive to the event, and I just know she'll deliver and steal the show. I also love her look; the whole "ice/snow queen" look is just amazing. With NWA being part of this event, here's hoping we do see Jennacide at Knockouts Knockdown, either in the tournament, or in the Monster's Ball match.

The Knockouts Knockdown tournament will feature eight women; four regular knockouts, plus Mercedes Martinez, Lady Frost, and two other women from outside of Impact. The winner will receive a future opportunity at the Knockouts Championship, which will be defended at the event, though Deonna's opponent hasn't been announced. Other than the aforementioned Monster's Ball match (which will be dedicated to Daffney), the Knockouts Tag Team Championship will be defended, as Jessicka Havok and Rosemary will defend the titles against either The Influence (Tenille Dashwood and Madison Rayne) or former champions Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering).

Mickie James, who will challenge for the Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory on October 23, will serve as the event's color analyst while Veda Scott will do play-by-play. Melissa Santos will appear as the event's ring announcer. Knockouts Knockdown will take place on October 9, though I'm certain there will be much more set for the event. I expect a lot more women to appear at Knockouts Knockdown; more from NWA, some women from AEW, and other promotions. I would think we'd see NWA and AEW's Women's Champions, Kamille and Britt Baker (respectively), at the event. This whole AEW/Impact crossover that has been happening in recent months; it has yet to see any impact (no pun intended) in either of their women's divisions. Here's hoping that Knockouts Knockdown kicks that off, and we see more of it at Bound for Glory and beyond.
