It Can Happen
The Knicks have a decisive edge over the Spurs, leading the series 2-0. Could they take it all the way?

With that last shot, Knicks fans held their individual breaths. As Victor Wembyana launched that orange orb into the air, every Knick supporter waited with breathless silence until it fell and rimmed out of the goal.
Cheers ensued. But those enthusiasms should be curbed until the end of the series. This is the power of sports. The levels of emotional peaks and troughs emphasize the role everyone on the court has to play.
Last night’s game was way too close. And New York rarely runs out of steam but they can blow fourteen point leads. Wembyana had the most points on the floor, that’s both teams at twentynine points.
His late minute blunder where he passed to the back of Stephon Castle which led to a turnover will probably hurt him more than the missed shot at the end.
But the Knicks played only marginally well. Like a beautiful car that has trouble shifting gears sometimes, the squad struggles to get the ball in the hoop. Though ball rotation is a great feature of the game, they were called for shot clock violations on two occasions. It can be observed that they have a plan but it’s all about the stars.
Brunson played moderately well putting up twenty points, three rebounds and two assists. His position on the floor was just to remain healthy and avoid any scares like the previous game.
The Spurs continued to fight through the onslaught on both sides of the court. Monster blocks and needed rebounds colored the Spurs momentum. They felt fed by the crowd which gave a deafening noise when San Antonio captured the lead briefly.
It was a slobber knocker, though. Both teams play like it’s the championship-defining game. All of the players seem to know the assignment, even if they make mistakes that ultimately cost them the game.
The Knicks appear poised to continue their historic win streak with their ballplay but let’s just make it super comfy. Let’s see if the Knicks can go up fifty points and just let the fans cheer and drink beer and eat hot dogs while Spurs fanatics stew.
As long as Karl-Anthony Towns is healthy and Hart gets back his shot beyond the arc, there should be a chance for the orange and blue to close these next two games. Given the fact they’ve been hustling since this post-season run. It can happen. They would be able to gather their powers like Infinity Stones and continue to listen to coach Mike Brown.
He has served as assistant coach on multiple NBA championship teams and is ready to bring his collection of individuals to the promised land. Every possession means something to him because he draws up the plays. What he might do is bring that energy of blowing out teams to the fore and offer a new way to win.
With the way they’re playing to scratch and scramble to get at the pill, the Knicks ought to be more conscious of their chances to capture that coveted banner hanging in the rafters.
Whenever they take the floor, they’ve gotta be ready to serve like chopped cheese or bacon-egg-and-cheese-with-ketchup-salt-and-pepper from the corner deli in Harlem.
This is the mecca for art, fashion, entertainment, news media, and of course finance. New York has the position to become a major force in the East with the possibility of being champions in this case.
The Spurs might be that one opponent that will prevent them from running away with a win, but as the time ticks away and the score is in favor of the Knicks, that’s all that matters.
