According to sources, the Indian Premier League (IPL) major auctions will take place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13, ahead of the tournament's 15th edition. In the 2019 season, the tournament will include ten clubs, with franchises from Lucknow and Ahmedabad adding to the mix.

Before the 15th season of the competition, which will include a mega auction and two new teams, the IPL franchises have already filed their final retentions. Lucknow and Ahmedabad are the two latest additions to the IPL team pool. With the inclusion of two new clubs, the IPL now has ten teams, and the franchises will be looking forward to putting together a good squad through the mega auction ahead of the cash-rich league's next season.

The Indian Premier League big auction is expected to take place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13, according to a report on Cricbuzz. According to the source, the IPL teams have been notified of the mega auction dates and instructed to arrive in Bangalore by February 11 for a pre-auction meeting.

The Indian cricket team will face the West Indies at the mega auction, hosted in Bengaluru. India will meet West Indies in a three-match One-Day International series, with the third match taking place on February 12 in Kolkata. According to a BCCI official, the ODI match would not influence the auction procedures, and the mega auction timetable is set in stone.

After receiving clarity from the BCCI, a franchise executive informed Cricbuzz, "It has been explained to us that the match and auction are two distinct things, and both will go through."

On February 12 and 13, the IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place in Bangalore. A total of ten clubs will compete for some of the most important players auctioned off.

The initial dates for the auction were thought to be around February 7 and 8. However, sources from Cricbuzz suggest that IPL administrators met with the individual teams and, after much discussion, decided that the auction would take place on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore.

This season, two new teams from Lucknow and Ahmedabad will compete in the auction, with each team can choose three players from the pool of eligible players before entering the mega auction. CVC Capital Partners won the auction for the Ahmedabad team, while the RPSG Group won the bid for the Lucknow team.

At the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, some big names will be auctioned off.

The remaining eight clubs have till November 30 to submit their list of retained players for the IPL Mega Auction in 2022. Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj were retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Harshal Patel, the Purple Cap winner, was shockingly left out. Harshal is expected to command a high price in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

The Mumbai Indians were undoubtedly the finest IPL club in the previous three-year cycle, and selecting four players from a squad of world-class quality was a major challenge. However, they kept Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kieron Pollard. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan were notable big-name absentees from the retention list, and they will undoubtedly draw a lot of interest at the auction.

The Punjab Kings had a terrible season last year, so they only kept two players – Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh – to start anew this year. They did all they could to persuade KL Rahul to stay, but the Punjab skipper preferred to return to the auction pool.

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, had a lot of alternatives as well, and they didn't hesitate to pay a lot of money to keep Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. They also kept Moeen Ali, an all-rounder, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, a standout batter who won the Orange Cap in the IPL 2021 season.

Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes were left out of the Rajasthan Royals' retention list, surprised everyone. Sanju Samson was retained as captain, while the explosive opening pair of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were also retained.

Sunrisers Hyderabad could not agree on a fair price for Rashid Khan and was forced to return him to the auction pool. Kane Williamson and the youthful combo of Umran Malik and all-rounder Abdul Samad have been retained, while the prolific David Warner has been left out.

However, the Delhi Capitals had a lot of issues with player retention. They relied on players like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Anrich Nortje to help them develop their team for the future. The auction will also draw a lot of attention to big names like Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer.

Kolkata Knight Riders have placed their faith in their West Indian combo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine to produce in the future. They've also kept breakout sensation Venkatesh Iyer and mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, establishing a solid foundation on which to expand.
