Game 2

Hawks : 92

Knicks: 101

Complete roller coaster of emotions last night.

Even though the Hawks lost, we are still going home with a chance to go up 3-1 in these next two games at State Farm Arena. Splitting the series on the road, especially in the hostile MSG environment, is proof that the Hawks control their own destiny.

Game 2 started out in a very similar fashion as Game 1: Hawks jumped out to a 10 point lead in the first 6 minutes and carried that momentum through out the entirety of the first half. Going into halftime, we were up by 13. Ice Trae continued to silence the New York crowd, Bogdan Bogdanovic was heating up, and Julius Randle was held to just 2 first half points. All was well.

Then the second half happened....

I won't go as far to say we completely fell apart. That wasn't the case. Trae needed to sit for a while, which usually is fine due to the depth of our bench, but last night was different. The reserves played okay but they just couldn't get a singe shot to drop. Not only could we not make a shot, the Knicks couldn't miss. I'm not gonna get too deep into the details of the game, because the more I think about it the more frustrated I get. The more time that went by the more hair I was pulling out. The reason this game was so hard to watch was because we actually weren't playing that bad. We did everything we could but we just could not make a dang shot.

Moving on though...

The series is tied but we still have the advantage. Getting that game 1 win on the road was the head start we needed. The Hawks were 27-11 at home this year, so we need to take advantage of these next two games at home to continue the momentum and take command of this series. I can’t wait to watch the ATL fans give it to the Knicks.

Side story:

The guy who spit on Trae Young got banned from MSG indefinitely. But in my opinion that scumbag needs much more punishing. He should be fined, Trae Young should have a free shot to his face, and we should at least be able to see his face. All we could see in the shot was 50 Cent's girl get the mist of the spit ball. The Kicks fans are so stupid to think that coming after Trae Young like this is going to help their chances in any way at all. Trae has been the villan since high school and he loves every second of it. Every chant, every boo, every time he gets spat on, he thrives under those moments. These lunatics don't know what they're getting themselves into by poking the bear like this.

That’s another thing that really was out of control last night. Yes it’s great for your crowd to be loud and create an intense atmosphere. But the scumbag Knick fans got a little too big for their britches last night. “Fu** Trae Young” “Trae is balding”. One trash can of a guy actually SPAT on Trae. Ridiculous. I can’t wait to get these next two games at home and then go back to New York and finish the series there with a win. Absolute scumbags.

Anyway, we got one day off and then we’re back in action on Friday night. Expectations are high and I fully believe our guys will recover and get these next two wins before heading back to the big apple.

Ending on a positive note: My predictions for the series are perfect so far. What can i say?? Im two for two. Based on my reports we are gonna win both of these home games. It seems like a real rivalry is building between these two teams, and as much as my skin crawls watching the Knicks play, Im loving every second of this series. We got a fun one our hands. Go Hawks.
