Here is a look at action from the WNBA from Friday to Sunday.

May 15

Dallas 81, New York 71

Dallas travelled to New York and handed the Liberty its third straight defeat. The Wings got a strong effort from center Isabelle Harrison who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Dallas now 2-1 has seen success when Harrison scores double figures. In a season opening loss to Atlanta Harrison had six points on 1-8 shooting. Over the next two games, which were wins, Harrison has shot 12-25 and is averaging 16.5 points.

Dallas was led in scoring by shooting guard Arike Ogunbowale's 21 points despite shooting 6-18 (.333) from the field. She did shoot a strong 4-9 from three in the victory. New York's Sabrina Ionescu also struggled going 6-16 (.375) from the field but her three-point shooting didn't compliment things as she hit just one of five attempts from long rang. The point guard scored 17 points to pace the Liberty.

New York's Betnijah Laney had a strong year last season averaging 16.8 points on 45 percent shooting in 2021. This season she is averaging 12.3 points making 40 percent of her shots. Last year's Rookie of the Year Michaela Onyenwere has seen her minutes drop from 22.5 per game in 2021 to 16.8 this season in the first four games. She started 29 of 32 games last season while having zero starts this season. She is averaging 5.8 points, down from an 8.6 scoring clip in 2021.

Atlanta 85, Indiana 79

Atlanta improved to 3-1 behind 33 points and three steals from rookie small forward Rhyne Howard. After shooting 15-43 (.348) in her first three games, the WNBA's top pick in the 2022 draft knocked down 9-18 shots to cool off the surging Indiana Fever (2-3), who were on a two-game win streak. Howard is averaging 20.8 points over her first four games.

Atlanta shot .491 from the field led by Nia Coffey's 4-7 shooting. The power forward scored 14 points and shared the team high of six rebounds with Cheyenne Parker who also hit half of her 10 shot attempts to score 11 points.

Indiana got 27 points from shooting guard Kelsey Mitchell. The fifth-year shooting guard is averaging a career best 22 points after five games this season. In her past three games she is averaging 25.6 points per outing. NaLyssa Smith pitched in with 18 points for the host Fever in the loss.

May 14

Connecticut 77, Los Angeles 60

Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones posted double-doubles as Connecticut (1-1) earned its first win of the season. Thomas had 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the home team. The nine-year forward who averages 11.8 points over her career is averaging 24 points on 60 percent shooting in her first two contests of the season. Jones led the team with 12 rebounds to go along with 16 points. The 6-6 forward had a career year in 2021 when she averaged a career best 19.4 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.

Connecticut also got 13 points, six rebounds and three steals from guard/forward DiJonai Carrington. The second year is averaging 11.5 points in two games as a starter this season after averaging just 2.8 points as a rookie reserve in 2021.

The Sun limited Los Angeles to 35 percent shooting from the field, including a miserable 2-12 from three. Jordin Canada and Nneka Ogwumike shared the team lead in scoring with 12 points each. Sparks center Liz Cambage had season lows with 10 points and 20 minutes of play. A career .542 shooter, Cambage is shooting .476 in the first four games of the season.
