Every football fan must have the experience of going to a game in person. You have not had the entire game day experience until you have enjoyed a pregame tailgate. Tailgating is a great way to get the excitement going before the football game starts. It is especially great for a season opener, playoff game or other big season matchup. Tailgates are very popular and throwing a good one requires a little extra thought. Looking to upgrade your tailgate party? Here are some tips to take your experience to the next level.

Make an Awesome Playlist

Great music will make almost any party better. The music you choose will obviously depend on the audience, but in general you want it to be energetic, upbeat, and familiar. Having great music before a football game can really energize a crowd. To keep the crowd active it might be a good idea to include songs that everyone can sing too; for example, “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. If you are going to a college game, don't forget about your school's fight song. If you are a fan of the pregame shows, consider playing the game audio and then blasting some tunes during commercial breaks.

Change Up the Menu

If you've been to more than one tailgate, you have probably come in contact with some of the same food. Some popular foods you might’ve seen are steak, burgers, sausage, and other fired-roasted meats all hanging out of a pickup truck. You can separate from the pack by providing some variety to your tailgate. Pizza is a great way to do this. The Pizzeria Pronto Outdoor Oven makes a great outdoor pizza that will elevate the status of your party. Other great tailgate foods that you may be unaware of include chili, jalapeno wraps, Mac and Cheese and Tailgate Weenies. A great menu can be key to keeping the tailgate party going.

Have Some Great Drinks

No tailgate is complete without some great drinks. Having some variety in your drinks can also make a huge difference in the overall vibe of the party. One idea is to create a Bloody Mary Bar. You can give the party a fun spin by including items like shrimp, bleu cheese and pickled okra. Another idea is to upgrade your vodka. There are lots of new regional high-end craft vodkas that you can choose from. You can also make your own infused-vodkas at home before the tailgate starts. You can use items like cucumber, jalapeno, bacon to help in this process.

Upgrade your view

It's important not to forget about the most important part of the day, the game. There is no sense in having a great tailgate if you can't see the game afterwards. Consider buying or renting an outdoor LED Display to watch the game on. The crowd will appreciate you more if they don't have to listen to the play by play on the radio. Don't force them to listen to the game on someone's car radio. There are lots of LED Displays that are perfect for tailgating. Making this purchase will take your party to the next level.

Get More Games

You can never have enough games at a tailgate. There will always be that group of people who are not content simply eating or talking. They will want to move around and have some fun in anticipation of the big game. This is an opportunity to include everything from corn hole to beer pong and bocce ball. Getting the games going can keep a healthy level of competition for all fans. It is important to remember there will always be casual fans that will not be locked in to the actual game. This gives them an opportunity to have fun playing their own games.
