The Big Short is a famous movie produced in 2015 directed by Adam McKay. The movie takes place in the mid-2000s when different finance experts are slowly starting to see the instability in America’s housing market and predict its future collapse. The movie brings out important lessons that every trader and investor should know. In other words, it states the importance of researching every investment opportunity, not just the future growth but what has been going on in the past, as well.

The Big Short has made it clear that the instability was very much despicable though everyone chose to either ignore it or simply do not doubt the crack in the system. The market is very trend-driven, but sometimes a newbie investor can forget how easy it is to get lost in the talk and ignore the numbers behind the bloated words.

One of the greatest powers of history is that we get to see what mistakes people have made in the past and the movie depicts an issue that has already happened in the history of the USA. This is why every investor should look into the past of the applicable market.

Award-Winning trader, analyst and the mastermind behind Elite CurrenSea, Chirs Svorcik has also mentioned the importance of The Big Short movie not just for the investors but traders of all experience levels as well. He reflects on how he relates to the main idea of the movie, that you should always grab the opportunity by the horns. His expertise is wave trading and automated trading. Though the topic of Expert Advisors was not much relevant back in the day, we see the relevancy it has gained in the modern financial world.

Joining a trend is by far the easiest thing anyone can do, but predicting the trend to further benefit your overall trading account is way harder a task which requires a lot of research, dedication and analytical acumen. The movie lets us see 3 different perspectives with different levels of power and how they react to the occurring situation which goes to prove the point that you do not need to have a huge title or reputation to achieve success.

The movie also makes it apparent that the opportunity is hard to come by, so when there’s a chance you should take it. This translates into not just investing, but with everything in life. Hesitation might cost you more, especially when we are dealing with investing where the markets change in a split second and the decision might not seem profitable after you miss your chance.

Another key takeaway from the movie is the importance of transparency. The plot revolves around the broken system that has been built on fraud and mischief. No matter the short term gain, starting anything that has a bit of sketchiness will eventually deteriorate resulting in the ultimate crash for you. We can still see the impact that the housing market crash has had on people. This point emphasizes the idea of ethics and how important sustainability is in the business.

The movie's overall idea is to teach the viewers and newcomers to the investing industry to never follow blindly “professional’s” advice and have a mind of their own. Sometimes having a fresh perspective might be better rather than sticking to a set of traditional way of thinking. Especially, when it comes to investing, It is more than normal to ask questions about areas you do not understand about the investment. Know that a good financial advisers should have you best interest in mind but the Big Short paints a different picture to the audience which proves the point that when investing trust your own instincts and a thorough research.
