    Traveling the Oregon Coast

    Traveling the Oregon Coast

Come closer. I need to share something. The Oregon Coast may be this country's best-kept secret for a summer trip. I know, Oregon is so renowned for rain its best football team is the “Ducks.” It is nearly rain free during the summer months. June-September is a magical time to see a magical place. In fact, the real rainfall doesn't even begin until after Halloween.

Right on Red State: Florida Weather

Right on Red State: Florida Weather

Florida is hot. It's an undeniable fact, yet tourists feel the need to point it out. Floridians, and people who live in Florida, but don't want to be labelled as Floridians, are well aware that it is hot outside. Don't feel the need to remind them for the sake of small talk. They all know the statewide high temperatures are caused by Florida's proximity to the equator, and the low elevation making Florida very close to Hell.

Traveling to Senegal Left Me With More Questions Than Answers

Traveling to Senegal Left Me With More Questions Than Answers

Here I am, sitting on the edge of a fishermen’s boat in the Senegal River in the Saint Louis Region, right outside the village of Mouit. Birds are flapping and squawking from every which way above me. Normally, birds scare me, and I usually run for cover, but I could not duck this time. I was in awe at the sheer number of them and their reaction as we got closer to their sanctuary. Here humans met animals at the nexus that is the Langue De Barbarie National Park in Senegal. I’ve seen lots of birds in my lifetime of course, and I’ve seen bird preservation sites, but here, I felt intrusive, which was a feeling I had more than once during my time here in Senegal. It was more often than not that I felt like an outsider that was invading the classroom, the town or the habitat of others that were native to this land. But I wanted to learn! About the culture, the land and the language so I tried not to stand out too much but alas, that was not possible. I was different and everyone knew it.

8 Things To See & Do in Quintana Roo, Mexico

8 Things To See & Do in Quintana Roo, Mexico

    1. Hotel Zone This is the best place to stay in Cancun. The Hotel Zone is a strand of hotels along the beach which provide an amazing view and easy access to shopping and restaurants. If you want, you can find an all inclusive hotel which provides all the drinks and food you want. The price for your room may be a bit more, but it's worth it sometimes if you just want to hang around the beach and relax with a drink.

    Borocay Beach Time

    Borocay Beach Time

The Philippines is a fascinating country — an archipelago consisting of over seven thousand islands. The main starting point is the capital Manila — a bustling, thriving city that somehow manages to blend a modern business environment with the chaos and confusion that seems to define the streets of many Asian cities.

    A Weekend in Santa Marta

    A Weekend in Santa Marta

Santa Marta is an undiscovered gem of a city located on the northeastern tip of Atlantic coast of Colombia. I say that it’s an ‘undiscovered gem’ because it usually flies under the radar when compared to its coastal counterparts of Cartagena and Barranquilla. Still though, for Colombians and foreigners alike on vacation, Santa Marta has a lot to offer its visitors. I was drawn to Santa Marta a couple of months ago when I visited its neighboring town of Minca, which is also quite beautiful and full of lush scenery up in the mountains. Unfortunately, I did not get to spend much time in Santa Marta so I decided that during my 2nd time living in Colombia, I could not pass up the chance to visit this city if I had the chance.
