White Privilege Does Not Exist

Just because the word sounds real doesn't mean it is.

I acknowledge that there is still racism in today's world. Unfortunately, racism will never go away completely because there will always be people who have skewed views of their race and other races. Racism can only be prevented, but not destroyed due to it being an idea. It is an idea not a disease and just because it's an idea does not justify it being an acceptable one. Racial issues cause a great deal of division in America and other countries all over. However, you cannot put out a fire with fire and claim it's water yet activists, advocates, and social justice warriors do so with the idea of white privilege.

White privilege is defined as having advantages based on being white, over all other races, including blacks. "Perks" of white privilege are explained in a Teaching Tolerance article that discusses both racism and white privilege. The "perks" are: If a band-aid matches your skin tone; complimentary shampoo in hotels works with your hair texture; nude colored pantyhose appears nude when putting it on; hair care products are in the section "hair care" and not ethnic products, and being able to purchase travel size bottles for those hair care products at most stores. The article continues with more advantages based on intellect, the workforce, and law enforcement encounters. These advantages are noted as: security and law enforcement doesn't harass me nor follow me because of race; skin color defines job performance, intellect, professionalism and financial status. There's probably more but I want to keep this short and to the point. Basically, the article is stating if you're white, you have all the advantages.

I want to refute the claim of existence of white privilege. In the past few years, we (US and all other countries) have become very divided due to differences in views, especially with racial issues ever since the rise of social justice. White privilege does not exist. I am white, yes, but just because I am doesn't mean I'm entitled to other things that other races can't or don't have access to, like occupations, money, law enforcement encounters, etc. Many of these SJWs enforce the idea that people of other race, especially black people, that everything they do revolves around their race. An example of what I mean is if someone didn't get a job, they'll most likely say it's because I'm this race or getting pulled over is because I'm this race. White privilege is racist in itself. Saying because someone is white they have all the benefits is just as racist as saying because someone is black means they are all criminals. NOT TRUE. People may say to you "You can't have an opinion or a say in something because you're white." Basically, they're telling you because you're this race means you cannot say anything which is an attempt to silence someone's right to speak. Imagine if I said to a black, Mexican, or Asian, "Hey, you can't have an opinion about this subject because you're not my color." Do you realize how much outrage would ensue? So, why is it okay to say it to a white person but not the other way around it? Some people are financially privileged, or just lucky, but no one is racially privilege. Saying white privilege exists and accusing others of it doesn't solve inequality; it only creates more division in this world. I think people are claiming white privilege because they want to feel smart and feel as if they're a part of this "Woke" narrative.
