Trump: Israel Needs to Stop Now!

Trump Statement Calling for Ending of War.

Samurai Trump.

Donald Trump like Joe Biden is an out-and-out Zionist. In other words. he backs Israel to the hilt, good or bad, better or worse. Trump's Son-in-Law, the lovable Jared Kushner (joking!) is Jewish and married to Trump's daughter. He was the man behind the Abraham Accords in Trump's last administration. The plan was to bring Israel and Arab countries together like Qatar, UAE, etc. The peace between the Jewish state and these nations remains largely intact despite the Hamas-Israel war (if it can be called that!). The Abraham Accords left out the Palestinians. Trump had planned to give the Palestinians limited autonomy but not a full state. The Palestinians rejected this because it fell short of giving them what they wanted. Trump in retaliation cut off aid for the Palestinians during his presidency. Presumably, Joe Biden has restored US aid to the Palestinian Authority but not Hamas.

Trump was being interviewed by Jewish reporters and said the Hamas attack on 7 October was "Brutal". 1,000 Israelis died in that attack and 200 were taken prisoner back to Gaza. Since Israel invaded Gaza 32,000 Gazan civilians have paid the price in brutal acts by the IDF (Israel Defence Force). How many Hamas fighters and fighters of other Palestinian groups have died, is unclear. No doubt, large numbers of Israeli soldiers have also died and scores wounded. Gaza has been reduced to a pile of rubble. However, it would appear that the IDF is still facing stiff resistance from Hamas.

Donald Trump told those interviewers that Israel needs to "Finish up" in Gaza. Trump said had he been Netanyahu he would have been just as brutal in Gaza. However, Trump made clearer what he meant by "Finish up". Trump outlined that the world is turning against Israel, therefore, Israel needs to stop the war. Trump's statement came on the back of the UN voting for a ceasefire in Gaza which passed. The US normally blocks any mention of a ceasefire however, this time the US abstained. This is quite a notable change in US policy towards Israel. Netanyahu was going to send a delegation to the UN regarding the ceasefire vote, but when the call for a ceasefire passed, Netanyahu stopped them from going. This is the action of a baby throwing its rattle out of the pram!

There are ongoing tensions between Biden and Netanyahu over Rafah. There are a million or so Palestinian refugees taking shelter in that city. Netanyahu has indicated he will invade Rafah to destroy the last 4 battalions of Hamas. However, in doing so, tens of thousands of Palestinians will die on top of the others who have already perished. Biden told Netanyahu he must evacuate Gazans out of Rafah safely before taking any military action. Now it seems Biden does not want the IDF to go in. This is the reason for the US-Israeli tensions.

The question has to be asked how genuine is Biden in his spat with Israel? Is he genuine or doing it latterly because he knows many Americans do not support his stance in support of Israel? Similarly, the same question has to be asked about Trump.

Trump knows many disaffected Democrats do not like Biden's policy over Israel. So he may want to hoover up those Biden supporters, especially if he softens his language over support for Israel.

However, Trump is speaking the truth, Israel is facing criticism and hate like it never has before. Israel has made it bad, for Jews worldwide living outside of Israel. Anti-Semitism has risen exponentially and many Jews now, do not feel safe. Likewise, Islamophobia has also grown thanks to Hamas' antics on October 7.
