Trump Broke These 10 Lesser-Known Rules As A President

1. LGBT Pride Month

When he was campaigning to become the next president, he promised his people that he would always be an ally to the LGBT community. However, after stepping into office, Trump failed to acknowledge and recognize the month of June as LGBT Pride Month.

Clinton declared June to be Pride Month in 2000, but the practice was discontinued during the George W. Bush administration. During his eight years in office, President Barack Obama revived the tradition, issuing June proclamations and hosting celebrations within the White House.

Despite not recognizing LGBT Pride Month, Trump declared June to be Great Outdoors Month, National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, African-American Music Appreciation Month, National Ocean Month, and National Homeownership Month.

2. The Queen isn't Happy

President Trump is the only US President who had not met with the Queen since her reign. All other presidents have respected the tradition and felt it was an honor to be hosted by the Queen. However, so far, only Prince Harry and Melania Trump have met.

3. The First Lady wasn't Around

Typically, the first lady and her children live in the White House with the president. This custom, however, was broken by the Trump administration. Melania and her son Barron stayed in their Fifth Avenue apartment in New York City until Barron graduated from high school.

4. Extravagant Renovation

Presidents are not supposed to spend lavishly on renovations inside the White House. The amount of money allotted by Congress varies every year, and it's often scrutinized by the people of America.

However, Trump broke this rule and ended up spending $2 million on extravagant and fancy renovations.

5. No Air Force One

When Trump was elected President, he should have flown in Air Force One to meet with the outgoing President Obama, but instead chose to fly in his own private Boeing 757–200.

The decision had sparked speculation back then about whether the man in the position to become America's 45th president would strive to maintain the trappings of his celebrity image, which included the jet and a 66th-floor apartment at Trump Tower.

Mr. Trump purchased the airplane, which has a top speed of 500 mph, in 2011 and spent a modest sum outfitting it.

According to a Discovery Channel program, he affectionately refers to the plane as the "T-Bird," but it was dubbed "Trump Force One" following his election victory.

It is rumored to be valued at more than $100 million and features 24-carat gold fixtures and two bedrooms. Its seat belts are gold-plated, and Mr. Trump's bedroom has wood paneling and silk pillows embroidered with his family crest.

6. The White House Correspondents' Dinner

The president and the first lady are supposed to attend the White House Correspondents' dinner every year, but Trump broke this tradition by not taking part in it.

7. Ramadan Dinner

Trump broke a 20-year long tradition by not hosting Ramadan dinner at the White House. Presidents before Trump had organized Ramadan dinner at the White House to mark the end of the month of the most important Muslim religious festival. But Trump did not organize it.

8. Golf Is My Life

The president is not supposed to spend time on his private golf court when a national crisis is going on. However, Trump was photographed several times on the golf course while Hurricane Maria was wreaking havoc on a few states.

9. Oops He did it Again

Trump violated a federal rule that requires an hour between when a report is released and when federal officials can comment on the numbers. He got so excited and tweeted immediately about the jobs report instead of waiting an hour to do so.

10. No Hannukah and Cinco De Mayo Celebrations

He broke a 16-year-long White House tradition of celebrating the Mexican Cinco de Mayo festival. He canceled his invitation and went to New York to meet with the Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull. He also did not attend the Hannukah gathering at the White House.
