👋🏾 There, its EDB, thats Erik DeSean Barrett for long. Here for another moment of Thought.

It is no secret, since the signing of the emancipation proclamation, that black and brown family are struggling in these states united. They face a plethora of issues many of which has gone unnoticed, and to some degree has been intensified by those who find it profitable to hold certain communities down.

Can you believe it? We live in 2021. The year when rockets shooting to space is as normal as you and I going to the bathroom. Where communication with friends and family around the world is possible in real time, yet, the these states united is struggling with how to treat each other with dignity and respect. The act of equality is met with question marks, debate, and an all out struggle to just get some within the nation to recognize.

AMERICA 🇺🇸 is one of 82 civilized nations on planet earth, with is also ranking number 2 under china 🇨🇳 as a super power, and again I reiterate, we still can’t seem to figure out how to make certain we live 🆙 to our name. We are labeled as the United States of America, but until we find away to fix our social, and economic woes, we are anything but an where all men and women are created equal.

As I write this one and ten African Americans are more likely to not obtain wealth than their white counterparts. They are more likely to get turned down for homeownership, or the ability to have lasting equity in same.

As we speak, African Americans are still rapidly dying from the COVID-19 virus 🦠 with the same community being less likely to receive actuate information ℹ️ about how to protect themselves.

If the death 💀 by COVID-19 for of People of Color is bad enough, the slow painful death ☠️ due to economic struggles is even worst. Out of the some forty plus million persons unemployed, one and ten black Americas are unemployed, with an even staggering number, one and eleven for brown, more distinctly Latinos and native Americans.

All of these struggles though horrid, can be fixed with easy legislation, let it requires support from the Republicans, who as of now desire to reject the blatant facts presented before them. According to economist, these states united has lost one point six trillion dollars because of racism, and accompanying biases; and if these policies are put in place, it will cut the economic struggle of this nation is half. To give context, forty million American struggles cut in half, with the support of a few spineless republicans.

But what can get down, while the Republicans twiddle their noodle sticks? President Biden will today, Tuesday January 26, 2021 ink executive orders that will insure various acts of racial equity is reached.

  1. Making sure with support of Urban Housing and Development that our housing laws are reevaluated. The mission is to make sure those laws are working to provide fair housing and support of same for all Americans.
  2. In connection with the Department of Justice, we will as a nation cancel all contracts with private prisons, which will pave the way for a reduction in mass incarceration, while also promoting safe and healthy communities.
  3. Renew the nations commitment to tribal governments. Making sure they are receiving the support of all of America, and not some.
  4. And finally also with the support of the Department of Justice, the nation will make sure all targets against Asian Americans and other native communities who has been to now victims of oppression is eliminated.

I must confess I am not truly into politics, and before the 2016 elections, I really didn’t pay much attention to the happening. But the events of the past four years has shown us all the blatant indefensible acts from those of privilege. We thought that would end once Donald Trump was no longer president, but as we now see here a week in, this is not just hanging around, It is being emboldened.

This is a time when we can’t afford to be silent, where we can’t afford to loose sight of what is going on, and we can’t given in to those who wish to hold us down. This is our Time, This is Our Day, This is Our Moment. And when it is all said and done, we will prove who is on the right side of history.
