Not many have heard about operation Barbarossa but as a child I was listening to great stories from my grandparents who went through an unforgettable ordeal. This article unveils the secrets, realities and cruelty of this operation and how humanity managed to survive, dealing with many excruciating pursuits to escape the Nazi's captivity. I'm privileged to know about the operation of Barbarossa and want to share this moment in history to inform my readers of the warfare regime that humanity managed to overturn and destroy. This article unveils the details of my book, Stolen Youth of War, which tells the full true story of this operation and its horrified agenda.

On Sunday, 22 June 1941, the Germans launched their invasion of the Soviet Union with operation Barbarossa. Suddenly, a convoy of SS vehicles arrived with flags emblazoned with swastikas snapping in the wind. At first the occupants of Soviet Union were curious about the men in green uniforms who went around yelling, “Heil Hitler!”They could not prepare themselves for what would happen. Many youngsters were taken from the families and forced into slavery in Germany. The secret of this operation was to put into action Nazi Germany's ideological goal of conquering the Western Soviet Union, acquire oil reserves of the Caucasus and the agricultural resources of Soviet soil and eventually through liquidation, enslavement so called Germinization and mass deportation to Siberia, remove the Slavic people and create a German Empire referred to Lebensraum.

Germanization was a term in 19th and 20th centuries by German conservative thinkers and means the spread of German language, people, and culture. This ideology was during a period when conservatism and ethno-nationalism went hand in hand. Non- Germans were often not allowed to use native language and had their traditions and culture suppressed. In addition the colonist and settlers were used to upset the balance of the population. In Nazi era Germanization turned into policy of ethnic cleansing resulting in genocide of some non German ethnic groups.

This was the most devastating for so many people who was serving in Germany. In my book I illustrate the harsh realities of life during the Second World War and the tragedies many have had to go though in order to survive. This time in history was the best example of how eliminating this war was and the brilliance and unscaleable strength and acuity of human mind to withstand this captivity and witness victory of the most eliminating war in human history. For millions this was the time of great starvation. Despite facing the harsh realities humankind has managed to fight though it and survive in the Germanization. Women had to cut off their precious hair and men had to run for their lives to survive the captivity and execution.

For me it was extremely interesting to hear these stories and getting insight of them and to hear what these people were seeing and how they managed to survive in such dangerous times. Many in captives travelled to the UK, EU, USA and most of these people are no longer here to tell the world about the atrocities and the evil of human heart. I wrote my book to illustrate what operation Barbarossa entailed and how they have had to go through hell to survive and return to Soviet soil to be punished again for no fault of their own. I would recommend to read this book at your leisure that unveils the true love and the heroism of the people of that generation. I have been inspired to the point so I've decided to write a book. You might be inspired to turn your life around for the better days to come. Have a good life and a great future!
