politics
Politics does not dictate our collective cultural mindset as much as it simply reflects it; We've got to look in the mirror sometimes, and we've got one.
Ryan Wastes $38 Million on Midterms
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan went all out in his efforts to protect the House majority, and he failed rather spectacularly. His Congressional Leadership fund raised $140 million and spent just over $120 million, about $101 million on independent expenditure ads.

BRYCE ON THE NEWS MEDIA - Time to break the cycle. Click for AUDIO VERSION. The 2018 mid-term elections was the largest campaign of its kind in history, both in terms of votes cast and campaign money spent, which was in the billions of dollars. Perhaps it is time to reflect on why this happened. We now live in a 24/7 news cycle. Whereas back in the 1960's we would read morning newspapers, watch evening news, and skim through weekly news magazines (e.g., Time, Newsweek, Life, etc.). News is now offered on a non-stop basis, not just on one television channel, but several, as well as the Internet. Forget reality TV and sports, news is now the #1 entertainment medium and there are millions of news junkies around to prove it.
The Crushing Duopoly of American Politics
In wake of recent events, whether in news casting or general public indecency, it has become clear to me that our great nation, which was once founded in hopes of freeing people from the clutches of leaders we did not choose, has been perverted to a mere shell of its former intent.

BRYCE ON POLITICS - The morality of the country. Click for AUDIO VERSION. Midterm elections are normally as exciting as watching grass grow. A handful of people usually show up to elect dog catchers and the like. Democrats tend to avoid it like the plague, failing to see the significance of it in comparison to a presidential election. However, in the Age of Trump and the Resistance, the 2018 midterm elections have been electrified and we may very well see some record voting numbers for such an election. This, of course, represents a bonanza for the news media who reaps the financial harvest by whipping the populace into a frenzy.
Civil Rights Are Human Rights
An outcry from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Plus (LGBTQ+) community arose Sunday morning following an article published in The New York Times reporting that the Trump administration is considering defining gender as “a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth,” which would roll back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law.

Every time I write something about the SNP, I optimistically think there's nothing more to say. They couldn't possibly surpass the idiocy previously shown, but they can and they do. And as always, I am proved wrong.

To my family, Although I offend stay quiet when you discuss current events, and scroll past your Facebook posts without the urge to make outraged comments, it doesn’t mean I agree with your views. You see I don’t make comments to your face or behind a screen because although I want to share my political views with you, I know you will highly disagree with me. You claim that other parties are sensitive, snowflakes, who don’t understand what’s going on, who are disrespectful individuals that need to learn some manners, and need to read up on what’s going on in the world. It’s funny because I’m literally listening to you making these comments you make and I’m in the one of those parties that you speak so low of.

Voters in El Salvador elected new leadership for the 84 seats in the Legislative Assembly and 262 mayoral seats for its municipalities this past March. The past governing party, Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN), has lost popularity within the country, allowing opposition parties to prosper.

On July 13, President Donald Trump arrives in the UK for a working visit. Throughout it he will meet the Prime Minister at Chequers and The Queen at Windsor Castle. It will not be a state visit, though one is planned for later in the year. Only three presidents have been bestowed the honour of a state visit to Great Britain including Trump’s predecessor, President Barack Obama, and whether the one being planned actually occurs is yet to be seen. The visit has been arranged so that President Trump won’t have to visit London and therefore stay clear of any protests that will inevitably take place.
Jonathan ReedPublished 6 years ago in The SwampWhy Don't All Women Vote Democrat?
BRYCE ON POLITICS Click for AUDIO VERSION. The Democrats desperately want the world to believe they have a monopoly on the female vote; that a vote for a Democrat candidate is the only logical choice. They further contend any woman voting for a Republican is either a fool or being controlled by their spouse. It is simply beyond their comprehension that women would support President Trump, a Republican running for election, or Brett Kavanaugh. They just don't get it.
