The bills that Congress reject are as informative as the ones it does. Reviews of all the legislation that meet their fate in government halls.
Are You Sure That Your Ancestors Came Here Legally and That Today's Immigrants Just Want a Handout
Photo by Celso FLORES Immigration, a subject that gets everyone’s ire up. I am among them. For me, it’s the generalizations that infuriate me, and unfortunately, my fellow Italians do their fare share. So let’s begin.
Rich MonettiPublished 2 years ago in The SwampCan We Do Anything About Our Eroding Freedoms?
Freedom has been won and lost a million times over thousands of years. Small groups and large groups have attempted to define and implement freedom. Everyone you ask will assure you they can tell you what freedom is. Unfortunately, as with all things, every person has a different opinion, making a "one size fits all" definition of freedom nearly impossible. There is a plethora of components that people agree on, but no two people will ever agree on every aspect.
Bonita L PetersonPublished 2 years ago in The SwampShould Trump Run Again?
This is not a trick question or a trick answer. Pull up almost any website on the Internet these days and you’re likely to see an ad asking: “Should Donald Trump run again” Some ads will include the words “Should Donald Trump run for President again?” while others will not.
The Great Betrayal
It was a crushing day on so many levels. It started with great expectations of a hope-filled future and ended with a devastating slap in the face. The worst of it was realizing how naïve I really had been. I felt so conned and deceived. I pride myself on being discerning, so it was a devastating revelation.
Bonita L PetersonPublished 2 years ago in The SwampBreaking Down Indiana's New Abortion Legislation
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in June to overturn the constitutional right to abortion, Americans across the nation have been protesting and eagerly awaiting the outcomes in their states regarding legal and accessible abortions and reproductive healthcare. Governor Eric Holcomb of Indiana, the state with the third-highest maternal mortality rate in the country, has just signed the new Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), almost totally banning abortions.
Abi Jo ShoaffPublished 2 years ago in The SwampNew Laws Demanded by Recent Events
With the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v Wade and many states effectively banning all abortion, which will most likely lead to banning many forms of contraception, and with a sizable number of political office holders who fervently believe a ten-year-old should be forced to have a baby, certain laws must logically change to conform to the new rulings. The following are my suggestions:

37 individuals. Most are probably forgotten by the public at large, most, if not all, were probably never even remembered in the first place. Some spent their final moments in a classroom, some in a grocery store, and some celebrating a parade. Some probably experienced some terror in their final moments, maybe some were “mercifully” spared. Some individuals were just beginning their life, while some were beginning a new stage in life. Some of these individuals were fathers, some were mothers, some were brothers, some were husbands, some were wives, some were cousins, and some were friends. Speaking in absolutes though, *all* of the 37 were senselessly, and viciously, executed in mass shootings in the past 60 days in the United States of America.

Daunte Wright’s mother told reporters that her son had called to tell her he had been pulled over for an air freshener dangling from his rearview mirror before he was shot and killed in Minnesota last week during a traffic stop.
Jennifer GeerPublished 2 years ago in The SwampHow the Decline Of America Is Ruining Our Mental Health
It’s not easy being an American for many of us in 2022. There has been a trend toward our country reverting backward in time, in so many negative ways. As we become more divided, angry, and confrontational, it takes its toll on our mental health.
Jason ProvencioPublished 2 years ago in The SwampOh, You Want An Abortion? Sorry, You Don’t Deserve One
So you supported Donald Trump and his rise to power. You voted red like you always do as a good Christian in your home state, located in the Deep South. You clapped as he stacked the Supreme Court with as many conservative “Christians” as quickly as he possibly could.
