When all actions you take are totally futile…

Then every action you take is epically heroic

THIS IS NOT

I REPEAT “NOT”

A STORY ABOUT THE VACCINE DEBATE!

But below is a real-life example of what this story IS about!

.

My son came back from a day at college and told me about a lone anti-vax protester.

How this lone nut job waved his special book around shouting about how

“The Needle Was Evil”

The family shared a giggle as we heard how this weirdo was escorted from the vaccine bus.

How this total nut job stood on the edge of college land and continued to shout his crap.

There was a brief pause in the conversation and jokes

THEN I reminded the kids that I totally agreed that this man was a lunatic spreading a lie.

BUT

HE believed the lies were true.

HE believed these lies with such courage and conviction that he was willing to protest alone against the entire world.

HE knew he would face jeers, humiliation and possible arrest but did it anyway

HE did not let either embarrassment or threats legal or physical stop him.

And for those reasons, this “Nut Job” deserved our respect.

I reminded them that our own families own core liberal values,

Our shared values against homophobia, racism, sexism and other bigotry have only ever been realized in our reality by the Exact Same strength of character!

.

NOBODY KNOWS!

.

The fact is, that it is easy to say Rosa Parks was heroin in retrospect.

But to people at that time, on that very bus, She WAS that lone weird nut job making life difficult for others.

She is known for making a difference in a sea of other brave Nut jobs, that were just quietly taken out back, beaten and then found hung dead by the neck in a tree 3 days later.

No one will know their names, but their courage and conviction were no different.

.

I hate racists with blood tasting cold rage that makes their hate for racial minorities seem like a mere hamster fart in an elephant cage by comparison.

(I had at one stage; years ago, even considered being a very violent domestic terrorist targeting neo-Nazi gyms with poison attacks. NOTE: This fact gets revisited later.)

BUT

I have far more respect for a lone true racist than I do for some mild shock presenter who is just frightened of losing their “D” level celebrity status.

Rosa Parks could have no way of knowing that history would prove her right

Adolf Hitler, by the time he became chancellor, could have no way of knowing that history would prove him wrong

And on paper, at those points, in their respective scenarios, without the benefit of hindsight, you could never have guessed in a million years who would have won and who would have lost.

Not just in politics, but also in Science, Art, and every other field.

The lone nut jobs, the weirdos, the destroyer of their own careers, have no way of knowing if they will be proven right by history or smitten to dust by it.

They ALL think that they are the “Good Guys”

They ALL think the other side is the “Bad Guys”

But sometimes the final cards don’t get revealed until over a hundred years after their death.

A CARD REVEALED!

Here is another real-life example.

I did promise this fact would be revisited later…

As previously mentioned,

I had at one stage; years ago, even considered being a very violent domestic terrorist targeting neo-Nazi gyms with poison attacks.

No number of priests, police, preachers, would have stopped me

I simply shrugged and assumed my young family would probably be killed in reprisal and that I would spend my life in jail.

I did not care.

These people (the neo-Nazis) rule by fear and they seemed scared of nothing.

I NEEDED them to feel Real Mortal Fear at all costs.

In truth, it was other people’s cowardice that enrage me more than their shows of strength.

I had a recipe, a delivery system, and a last stand fallout plan.

Totally by accident, I fell upon a simple meme.

It told the story of a pacifist group called the White Rose lead by a brave woman called Sophie Scholl.

If I have not accidentally read her story I would have gone through with my plans.

I would not be here writing this now.

Sophie Scholl, from beyond the grave reached and inspired me to try and not become violent for just a little bit longer in a way that no living human being could have.

And just like Rosa Parks and Adolf Hitler, she could have no idea of the effect her small groups “Weirdo Nut Job” Actions could ever have had, if it could have had any at all.

She could never be able to perceive what the internet was, who I would be, what the meme I would read, or what the hell a “meme” was.

But all that time later a card she had set up in motion, fell.

And on that card figurative face, I saw patience and temperance.

Even after all this time, her brave acts were still making a difference!

FUTILE?

It is easy in this world to think that nothing you can do will ever make a difference.

.

Volunteer to clean a beach of rubbish and more rubbish will always appear.

.

Protect one group from bigot driven thugs,

And then those once victim’s start acting with violent bigotry against another group.

Doing the same form of injustice that they too once suffered

And not being able to see the horrible irony!

.

I once heard a gay activist couple say the same poisonous shit about Bi people

That violent homophobe gay-bashers said about them as gay people.

The labels were changed but the vile hate speech content was not!

.

Certain Extreme feminists talk about castrating ALL (without exception) men.

Because of some men's sexual assaults on some women.

And they cannot see how they have just become a direct equal and opposite reflection of a pro rapist misogynist arsehole.

Nazis and the Jews

Are followed by

Israel and Palestine

.

Between 30% and 40% of people who are abused as children go on to become abusers themselves!

Despite the pain, a trauma they go through they choose to continue perpetuating it.

It makes you want to quit!

.

You can become truly broken by a world where the rules only selectively apply to those who take.

.

Some days I genuinely feel like changing sides and joining them in becoming one of the scammers of the world.

.

When you see people in power do immoral shit and call it a legal entitlement, with no shade of irony in their voice...

You want to just burn everything and grab what you can from those weaker and more vulnerable than you.

.

You want to stop fighting things like homophobia and racism and scammers,

Throw up your arms and say fuck it!

Game over

Good guys always lose.

The Bad guys have already won.

.

"Who wants to pay me enough to make an alt-right poster!"

.

"Time to get some fake IDs and milk some old people!"

.

"Where can I get a list of the locally mentally ill with low willpower and a second-hand tarot deck"

.

It usually only lasts a few days and then what's left of my soul kicks back in.

But some days though...

When I KNOW how good I'd be at that shit...

...the pleasure I could get from the pain, I could cause...

Some days it is really hard not to hate the world enough to spite it...

.

Why bother fighting the Nazis?

Why bother fighting any form of racism and bigotry?

Humans are deep down in their core innately shit!!

Even if you could stop absolutely ALL bigotry, within less than a hundred years the human race would find some OTHER baseless stupid arse excuse to harm each other.

Why not quit and let the world get the hell it deserves?

All actions you take are totally futile.

But THAT is the point of THIS article.

It may always SEEM that all actions you take are totally futile.

BUT

You cannot actually KNOW if all actions you take are totally futile.

NO ONE KNOWS!

NO MORTAL CAN EVER KNOW! – not really.

Guessing and believing with all your heart is NOT knowing!

It is just clicking your ruby heels and hoping very Very VERY Hard!

Stand on that cliff overlooking the vast sea.

Ignore the cold painful bite of the sharp rain

Stare down the coming storm

And scream in a constant rage

.

People will say

“What a fool”

“The storm cannot care about you!”

Ignore those people!

.

Scream at the strong storm regardless

Even though the wind out shouts and carries your weak voice away.

Keep Screaming your fury however futile!

.

Scream until your throat bleeds

Scream until you drown on your own throat blood!

.

If a single beat of chaos butterfly’s small wings across the world can create this storm.

Then you can have never known for sure, that your screams, won't also have some, as yet unseen, effect.

So, as you pass out,

Fall off that cliff into the sea,

As the storm overtakes you.

Just before you hit those ruthless rocks below,

Take heart that you may still have done something!

The only thing that will definitely do nothing?

Is doing nothing!

.

Even if all your actions do mean nothing?

Even if every attempt IS futile?

Then that just make your little effort in the face of the impossible,

NOT foolish,

But Instead

EPICLY HEROIC!

In a Living Hell where NO act of kindness Ever makes a difference

Every act of kindness means far more!

Be your own light in the darkness.
