Dear Fam,

Tell me, Brother Man, ever heard the adage "the money don't really make me whole"? My first time hearing it was likely somewhere around the time that the beautiful and talented rapper, Noname (formerly known as Noname Gypsy), decided to open up her debut mixtape with that line way back eons ago on 7JUL2016.

Bless it all if she might not have been on to something with that particular rumination. The way I figure it, though, "whoever pays the piper gets to pick the tune."

Blacks and poor people the world over, especially poor Blacks have been paying the piper by way of blood, sweat, and tears since before any of our 18th century ancestors were a twinkle in their daddies' eyes; if I may be so crass. There's no two ways about it.

Self-evident facts not withstanding, rumor has it that there's a feasibility of African Americans being the actual children of Israel; as concisely stated by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan on the intro to the also phenomenal rapper, Jay Electronica's debut album ("A Written Testimony") released this past March. Supposedly, we're the only ones to actually suffer all of those biblical curses purported on God's Chosen People.

In any event, there's a case to be made for the policy of UBI (Universal Basic Income), or a "Freedom Dividend", if you will, as a means to atone for some of all the country's many ills overall and what have you. One more Hip Hop project intro reference for the time being: "You can't heal what you never reveal[ed]!"- Jay-Z (2017).

Just this afternoon, I read a PushBlack story about a certain early innovator of photography who used his skills and such to shine a light on slavery's evils via a mural as well as an accompanying pamphlet. Of course, the 19th century piece essentially went the way of the sphinxes' noses, the Ark of the Covenant, common sense, and common decency.

At any rate, it's quite hard to imagine that this world might could actually completely avoid judgement and/or implosion all things considered. If the sun doesn't explode on us, then it'll feasibly be a severely tragic nuke accompanied by a ridiculously major EMP (electromagnetic pulse [aka computer chip destroyer]).

We simply "can't win for losing." Then again, maybe there's a former child prodigy planning to actually restore dignity and honor to the highest office of the land, despite being of a similar skin tone to myself, and/or actually starting from the bottom.

Perhaps he/she actually has a plan and contingency plans for the sun, the polar shifts, and the fomenting ire in this country. On the other hand, he/she could easily very well be scarred for life like the 10 year old girl hit by a stray near a local library in The District.

Ironically enough, the people charged with making my hometown safer will likely make matters worse by completely forgetting the adage, "An armed society is a polite society." Also, "free men own firearms; not slaves."

How many sexual assaults and whatnot could have been thwarted with a Glock that identifies as a "rape whistle" (oh, how I loathe the term), and a bare minimum of self defense training? How many times every year are the police not called because a responsible, honorable citizen did their actual civic duty of being Pistol Pete at the right time?

I decided to take a roundabout approach to illustrate the point that we need the country's life's blood (money) if we want to hope to teach or daughters that just because a so-called authority figure says it, doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a factoid. Just because the federal agents are a bit less flagrant doesn't mean that they have learned their lessons from experimenting on and forcibly sterilizing Blacks.

Were we able to get Andrew Yang's brain child (the Freedom Dividend) in full effect, we would have had the likelihood of giving our offspring the lives that they deserve. Conversely, there's a chance of it being a severe curse, more so than Blackness.

The primary deciding factor in my humble opinion being the so-called coin shortage that could be alleviated by simply eliminating the penny. Long story short, UBI is "the wave", which will only be averted by the coming, serious market "correction" some head honchos like Peter Schiff are predicting.

Sincerely yours,

Darrius Unity
