Melania Trump shows her true colors regarding her stay in the White House

Melania Trump has been showing Americans who she is for the past four years. Some are only realizing the truth about the Donald's wife now that she is no longer in residence at the White House. When her husband first won the GOP nomination in 2016 there were rumors that sources said the former model did not desire to be a President's wife. After the Inauguration in January 2020, Mrs. Trump remained in New York at Trump Tower instead of moving to DC. This cost the taxpayers millions of dollars each day until June when Baron and his mother finally arrived on Pennsylvania Ave.

From the beginning, she was reserved and refused help from her predecessor Michelle Obama. Melania's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said that the First Lady was independent and going to do things her own way and indeed she did. Grisham must not have approved of the way her boss did things as she resigned her position. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who was Mrs. Trump's good friend for 2 decades s well as an assistant also left the White House and wrote a tell-all book that did not paint the former FLOTUS in a posstive light.

Prior to COVID-19, Mrs. Trump was not seen out in public as much as those who had the job before her. Barbara and Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Michelle Obama were First Ladies who were pretty much front and center with an all hands on deck approach. Melania, however, seemed to be hiding from the American public as much as she could. Michelle Obama welcomed her successor to the White House and had tea with the woman who would take her place. Mrs. Obama was also gracious during the Inauguration and gave Mrs. Trump a box with a gift.

The 44th First Lady wanted to give number 45 a tour as Laura Bush and her daughters had done for Michelle and her children. When her turn came to be a kind hostess to Jill Biden, Melania turned a cold shoulder. She did not congratulate Mrs. Biden, nor ask her to tea. She has not reached out in any way and did not attend the recent Inauguration. This makes her look pretty bad as in spite of everything he has done, Donald Trump did leave a letter for President Joe Biden.

In addition, when the Trump's landed in Florida on January 20 and began walking across the runway, the Donald took time to wave at those who were standing near. He had a smile on his face and seemed relaxed. His wife on the other hand looked as if she might smack anyone who got in her way. Melania also refused to pose for the cameras and kept walking with a scowl on her face. Her attitude seems to be that she is so over all of it. This has been a rough 4 years for the former FLOTUS as politics was never on her plate. She was a reluctant First Lady and carried herself as if she did not belong.

Unlike Hilary Clinton, Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, and the Bush women, all of this was new to Mrs. Trump and it showed. She was harshly criticized and obviously was never able to get over all of it. Early on there were those who said her accent was too thick, and others brought up nude photos of the First Lady that were on the Internet. It was said that she was entitled and not a true servant for the people. The one thing that most Americans believe hindered her the most was being married to Donald Trump. There was a lot of sympathy for Melania simply because of who her husband is and an Internet campaign titled "Free Melania." Other First Ladies smiled through it all, whether good or bad.

Hillary Clinton had to deal with the Monica Lewinski scandal, Barbara Bush was criticized for having gray hair and some called her frumpy and unattractive. Michelle Obama was referred to as an ape and a gorilla and Laura Bush was often upbraided when she did not make public appearances and for her opinion of different matters. As a celebrity, Melania should have been used to criticism considering who she is married to but her true colors continued to shine through.

Mrs. Trump did absolutely no more than she had to do as a First Lady and now she is free, at least from politics. Some called Melania a bird ina gilded cage but perhaps she was simply a fish out of the water and now is feeling right at home at Maralago. This may not last long, however, because there are rumors that even as moving trucks were unloading furniture at the Trump resort, Melania had been spotted looking for a home in Jupiter Florida.
