Let Them Eat Cheese

Ok, I am retired, and I got bored writing about serious things and thought a little humor was in order.

The subject matter could be a serious subject, but what does it really matter? What we need, with everything that is going on these days is a good laugh and some off-the-wall humor. I believe my humor falls into the latter description, at times. Here is my best shot at bringing some humorous relief to mankind; a break from the usual political rhetoric and reporting that we are bombarded with on almost an hourly basis.

I hope you enjoy it.

When you retire you have some extra time on your hands. Sometimes, as I do, there’s the research of items of interest that may or may not be real. There have been, Bigfoot, UFOs, paranormal occurrences, and one that really interested me, maybe more than others, something called Project Horizon.

In 1959 the military hatched a plan that was deemed very feasible. The plan was to place a strategic outpost on the moon. Keep in mind that this was long before Neil Armstrong officially set foot on the moon.

In 2015 the plans for this outpost were revealed when documents were declassified. Think how much of an advantage we or anyone who could establish a moon base would have over their enemies on earth should they succeed. One could literally rain down missiles from such a base.

While we did not have the capability in 1959, the conclusion was that it was a future possibility. At that time, of course, we were in a race to the moon with the Soviet Union that we apparently won.

Some believe that many of the photos taken during the lunar landing and our walk on the moon have been doctored to hide man-made structures to keep the public from questioning what they were and how they got there. Still, there are others who say the moon landing was staged and did not happen at all. The groups of detractors say everything was staged and took place on a Hollywood-type movie set. They pointed to various photos where shadows do not match up to the light projected, as well as other items that they say may indicate a hoax was perpetrated upon the world.

Whatever happened, the record appears to show that Project Horizon was never funded and scrapped in the 1960s.

I personally am not sure what did or did not take place, but I do know that our government does not tell all and that there are “Black Projects” where monies do not have to be accounted for. There have been projects around the world that we do not and never will know about, undertaken by our government and maybe it is best that we do not know about them.

As far as Project Horizon is concerned that was the beginning thoughts of what could be. When our military attempts something they really have no limits to what can be accomplished; so, who is to say that we do not have a moon base.

Now, when you look up at the moon, look at it differently and ask what if? After all, if we never ask, “What if?”, nothing would ever be accomplished and this would be a dull world.

I remember, when I was a kid, my mother jokingly told me that the moon was made of cheese. If we have a base on the moon, I know that the inhabitants are eating cheese, they are probably Green Bay Packer fans and are wearing those funny Swiss cheese hats.

What If? What If?
