America's Language Bigotry
Recently, I read an enlightening, but very disturbing piece of literature entitled Mother Tongue. The piece told a story of a woman and her daughter Amy and their struggle with verbalized communication in America. Amy Tan, author of Mother Tongue, told a story of her mother being treated differently by the hospital that conducted her CAT because of the “broken English” her mother spoke. This heart-wrenching scenario was compounded by Tan’s father and brother passing away previously from the same tumors her mother was being seen for. The discriminatory behavior of this hospital was heinous, and their conduct should have been analyzed on a legal level. This kind of treatment is rightfully reprimanded when it comes to nursing homes or daycare so the same level of scrutiny should be exacted in all other medical facilities. The livelihood of someone should not be jeopardized in the very space they are seeking healing, especially for something like speaking a different language natively.

Trump Against Absentee Ballots, U.S. Must Push for Mail-In Voting.
Absentee ballots, or mail-in voting, is a hot button issue for Donald Trump. He is an opponent of it, but according to Pew Research Center, 70% of Americans support the choice to mail-in votes. President Trump has made inaccurate claims in regards to mail-in voting. Mail-in voting gives Americans the chance to vote freely and safely during the pandemic.

EXPOSED
As I sit in the safety of my cocoon, my flat here in London, I read about the latest murder of a man, a human being, by the hands of the biggest gang in America, the Police. I have become so immune to reading about these unlawful killings, that I no longer flinch, which isn't normal.

Lana Del Rey and White Clumsiness. Top Story - May 2020.
I will start by saying that I absolutely love Lana. Discovering her discography in high school truly felt like an enlightenment, and her album Ultraviolence is, to this day, one of my favorite albums of all time. However, miss Lana dropped the ball a few days ago, severely. In an attempt to confront her critics and haters, she, in the eyes of many people, shaded a handful of female artists who are either Black, part Black, part of an ethnic minority or… Ariana Grande. While I don’t think her intention was to be racially insensitive, there were several missteps in her rant, and we will take a look at them in this piece.
