Ah, good ole Election Day once again. The one day out of the year where people can fulfill their patriotic duty to vote for the people that are running for public office. They also get to vote in their state elections as well. The politicians in all levels of government this election should be more understanding in the issues that affect everyone as a whole. It is important for people who do not like the current officials in office are able to vote them out. That's the beauty of our right to vote in the United States and the democratic process.

We know that every election year gets really tense due to the current events going in world such as: Global Warming (and yes...it actually exists), civil unrest, higher rates of employment due to COVID-19, along with many events. Election day is one of those events in which either results could go wrong or right....depends on who you talk to honestly. This particular aspect of the democratic process allows people to have a voice on who should be in public office and who should not.

Honestly, I believe our country could do a better in selecting candidates for public office because no offense...we need a much younger and new generation of public figures that are willing to make some changes for the better in our world. By allowing younger people to run for public office, official business would be take seriously and laws would be taken care of in an expeditious fashion. I also believe the newer face to public office would provide the fresh perspective on the current issues for the people especially those under his or her leadership. It also brings a fresh face and someone who is motivated to do anything to make their respective areas better places to live.

I also find it very frustrating when third party candidates aren't given the opportunity to be heard on the debate stage alongside their Democrat and Republican opponents. Can we give these third party candidates the chance to debate? It's unfair for these candidates to be turned away from the debate stage simply someone says that "a two party system is sufficient enough for a debate stage" (Welch, 2020). Realistically, we should be asking the question as to why are people's ability to see third party candidates debate live are being slowly taken away. Third Party candidates are just as capable to debate and articulate their campaign plans just as well as any Republican and Democrat candidates.

I would like to make the following recommendations in order to hopefully rectify some or actually all of these issues. This way, we are able to hold elections that include every candidate regardless of party into limelight from campaigning, to the debate stage, and onto the election ballot. The first recommendation would be to include third party candidates into the debate stage along with both Democrat and Republican candidates to allow their voices to be heard. Second, is to ensure third party candidates are given the equal amount of time to answer questions and speak while they are on the debate stage. Third, to amend requirements prior to debate so it will be fair and equal requirement for every candidate to follow. It is an important step ensure every candidate regardless of party are treated fairly during the debate process.

Election day is an important time of the year because everyone throughout the country casts their votes so their voices are heard. It is a person's civic duty to go out and vote so they have a say in the election process. It is also the civic duty of those in charge of elections to make sure the people are provided the necessary tools to cast their votes. These two things are very important in order to maintain a democratic election process.
