Pandemic or Plandemic?

March 23rd 2020, the day life as we know it here in the UK changed forever.

Boris Johnson stood live on Television and explained to us as a nation that Lockdown was to be implemented due to a deadly outbreak of a new strain of Coronavirus; dubbed Covid-19.

Restaurants were to close, schools to temporarily halt, shops to shut their doors and all unnecessary contact with friends and loved ones was to cease.

Every elderly, adult, young person and child became scared of the uncertain times. Streets laid bare, doorways of businesses, schools and homes were empty. Non-essential workers were furloughed from an astounding amount of funds supplied by the government.

People were fearful for their future but optimistic. It seemed the newest PM was doing his job properly and keeping the nation safe and informed.

He made clear our economy would hit some bumps; but reassured us the economic boom would shortly follow.

He showed concern for the closure of our schools but assured us it wouldn't be long before we were back on our feet and our children back in the classroom.

He supplied unlimited funds for businesses to furlough their staff with an 80% guarantee on all wages and supplied self employed with a cash amount, equivalent to their average take home pay.

A new level of fear had hit our nation but the majority of people were positive we could and would beat this.

Then, March 30th 2020. Boris Johnson takes the stand and explains on Live Television he has tested positive for Covid-19.

The citizens of the UK were shocked and astounded that the nations leader had contracted what was slowly becoming one of the deadliest viruses the last several generations had encountered.

Although scared, we were again reassured by Secretary of state for business Alok Sharma that the PM, "Has mild symptoms."

Then, Monday April 6th, Boris Johnson has continued his duties from the safety of his home, staying quarantined until his symptoms disperse.

Still being told our leader is in complete high spirits and well enough to run our country, you could feel the nation beginning to question this but still we stayed positive. However, later that evening, Mr Johnson was taken into intensive care as his condition had worsened and he had become unstable.

Now our nation began to panic.

UK Covid-19

It took several more days of doubt and good to bad turns for Mr Johnson to start his road to recovery and how did the citizens of England respond to this panic and uncertainty? We bought toilet roll... lots and lots of toilet roll.

Over the next couple of months, shelves became bare. Teabags, pasta, toilet roll and eggs; among other things, became almost impossible to buy.

Fresh meat became a luxury to many; including myself. No longer could I buy meat from a supermarket as panic buyers ran riot. So I would have to order my meat 5-7 days before it was delivered. No more quick roast on a Sunday.

Among all of the chaos, worry and fear; their was positives to see.

Nature started to take back what humans had for so long ruled and it looked beautiful.

Deer's began to roam the streets without the fear of being hit by fast cars.

Fish returned to the canals of Venice.

Dolphins were seen in the waters of the UK; happy and bountiful.

The streets were calm, quiet and felt safer.

Then, people began to get bored, annoyed and the conspiracy theories began.

What was once a feared pandemic became known to and by many as a plandemic; an evil, twisted game seemingly being played by our government that prevented human rights and created fear to keep us under lock and key.

Why I hear you ask? That is still a question I find hard to answer. Yet, it seems as the months have gone by, less people are in fear for their lives and instead angry about the lack of life they're living.

Do I miss late night drinks in bars, dinner dates with my partner and cuddles with my nearest and dearest?

Absolutely.

Has Boris changed mine and many others opinion of him over the months with his lies and mixed messages?

Of course.

Close all shops, schools, stay in and stay safe. Then several weeks and months later when infection rate is at it's highest and death rate begins once again to rise; stay in groups of 6 and be aware of distancing.

What does that even mean?

So, it is no wonder conspiracy theorists have started a riot against the PM for their rights.

But what good are human rights if we're all dead?

Yes, infection rate is high and death rate is considerably low in comparison.

As of today, September 27th. Death rate is at 4% with 24,394,484 people having contracted and survived Covid-19.

In comparison, 998,171 people worldwide have sadly died from this not so new pandemic.

So the next time you or someone you know decides to call this Virus a fakedemic or a plandemic. Stop for a minute and remember those who have died because of this virus and partly due to the ignorance of people like yourselves.

I'm not saying to trust and believe in politicians. They have proven their incompetence on several occasions during this pandemic.

But, you do have your own minds and common sense.

Schools are now open, restaurants and pubs open for service until 10pm. Businesses are now up and running again and winter is coming.

So be careful.

Keep 6 foot whenever possible from strangers, wear masks (now mandatory) in every shop you need to enter. See your relatives; especially the elderly, through windows or in the garden with distancing in place.

We live in a time where technology rules so work out how facetime works and use it to see the people you otherwise would if the current situation would allow it.

The way our country and the ignorant citizens her are behaving; we're heading for another lockdown. A lockdown that will kill our economy and before that happens; kill even more of our citizens.

Don't be a statistic and don't add to the statistics by aiding in the demise of others.

Stay safe, stay aware and stay calm.

We will beat this.
