Child labor is a term that you may have heard in the news or in movies. It means crime when children are forced to work at a very young age. It is like expecting children to do tasks like working and fighting for themselves. There are certain policies that set limits and restrictions on working children.

Child labour is a kind of crime where children are violated to work at a very young age and do the duties just like grown-ups by practicing in business activities. As per the International Labour Organization (ILO), a rule has been established according to which children up to the age limit of fifteen should not be involved in any job forcibly. The use of the children for financial work makes children denied of childhood, proper literacy, mental, physical, and social well being. In some countries, this practice is completely forbidden; however, it has become an international matter in most of the states as it is ruining the future of children extensively.

The average age for a child to be ready to work is considered to be fifteen years and older. Children who fall below this age limit will not be permitted to indulge in any form of forced labor. Why is that? Because child labor deprives children of the opportunity to have a normal childhood, a good education, and physical and mental well-being. In some countries, it is illegal but nevertheless, it is a far cry from total eradication.

Causes of Child Employment

Child labor occurs for many reasons. While some of the reasons may be common in some lands, there are specific reasons for specific areas. If we look at what causes child labor, we will be able to fight it better.

First, it happens in countries with high levels of poverty and unemployment. When families cannot earn enough, they put their children to work to earn enough money to survive. Similarly, if older family members are unemployed, younger ones should work in their own area.

In addition, when people do not have access to education they will eventually put their children to work. The uneducated only care about the short-term consequences which is why they put children at work so they can live now.

In addition, savings in various industries is a major factor in child labor. They hire children because they pay less for the same work as adults. Since children work harder than adults and also earn less, they like children. They can easily influence and use them easily. They see their profit only which is why they involve children in factories.

Termination of Child Employment

If we want to end child labor, we need to build effective solutions that will save our children. It will also improve the future of any country facing these social ills. First, one can form many unions that only work to prevent child labor. It should help children to do this work and punish those who do it.

In addition, we need to keep parents informed so that we can teach them the value of education. If we make education free and people know, we will be able to teach more children who do not need to do children's work. In addition, raising awareness about the harmful effects of child labor is appropriate.

In addition, family management measures should be taken. This will reduce the family burden so if you have small mouths to feed, parents will be enough to work for them, instead of children. In fact, every family should be given a small salary by the government to survive.

In short, the government and the people must come together. Employment opportunities must be given to the masses so that they can earn a living instead of putting their children to work. Children are the future of our country; we cannot expect them to maintain the economic status of their families instead of having a normal childhood.

Child labour is still followed in many nations even after being a big offense. Owners of the industries, mines, factories, etc., are using child labour at a high level to get more work at low labour cost. Poor children are more inclined to be involved in child labour as they are overpowered by parents to make some money to give financial help to their family at a very tender age (too young to understand their liabilities towards family) alternately of taking proper education and enjoy their childhood.
