This is what’s going on.

On the 1st of March, 2021 (just eleven days ago), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) released a press statement in which the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru, stated that “the Corporation was not contemplating any raise in the price of petrol in March in order not to jeopardize ongoing engagements with organized labour and other stakeholders on an acceptable framework that will not expose the ordinary Nigerian to any hardship.”

Eleven days later and here we are now. The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, has now fixed the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS popularly known as petrol at N212.61 per litre for the month of march.

In a time when the price of everything from food to electricity bills are on the rise, a lot of Nigerians don’t find this news from the government as welcome at all.

So, we went out to make our thoughts known online – from regular Nigerians to celebrities. Today, we’ll be counting down 11 Nigerian Celebrities’ Reactions to all of this Fuel increase wahala. Are you ready? Then let’s go!
