Shoes used to be cool. Then, they elevated. They became chic. Sneakers priced in the thousands of dollars became a factor of the market. At one point, the Q community took over the idea of sneaker culture. Then, when scammers and shooters found out how much money these things cost, they became a throwback to when kids were being killed for Jordans on their way to school.

If there is one thing to be said, Lil’ Yachty is helping to continue the demand for custom sneakers. That’s what is so fascinating about Lil Boat’s choice in choosing the Nike Air Force One Low. It provides a footwear canvas that permits an orange figure corresponding with Yachty’s Concrete Boys on the side.

By collaborating with Nike, the rapper charts down a course where dozens of other athletes and artists have offered their renderings to the legendary shoe first designed in 1982.

To consider the idea of him making a shoe out of the image he had in his head is remarkable. Like any other designer, he had to concern himself with the outline and the perfection that would be permitted in gathering materials to make the sneaker.

For all the Jordans and Foams of the world, the coveted sneaker may just be the AF1. It is so versatile yet simple. Anyone who wishes to create something new with it will remember the truth about the different ways that the shoe can be altered.

The late great Virgil Abloh designed a whole line of AF1 sneakers that have become masterpieces in cosmetics and shoe apparel.

All of the power encompassed in the idea of making a new shoe is what makes it interesting. That’s the powerful force in being the head behind figuring out what the sneaker looks like. Yachty has enough star power in his niche that he’s able to make the design all his own.

From the outset, he challenged himself to make a shoe that would rival that of Abloh’s. He can’t compete, but it’s commendable that he tried to put his own selfish mind to the task of making an individual design.

Why he did this would of course be money but also for bringing something beautiful to the world. He saw that there was a real demand in joining Nike by electing to make the effort. He brought his whole soul into the project and it should be a successful launch.

Of all the different ways that Yachty will get to boast about this wondrous piece of footwear, he can say they symbolize the reality of hip hop still having an impact on the world of clotheswear and apparel.

So if Yachty can sell these sneakers, there should be a way of creating a bit of change in the reality of a second or third tier rapper to be brought up to a level of a Drake or Eminem who has deals with Jordan to produce sneakers. That’s the difference between the lower level rappers and the elite, maybe. Like the aforementioned rappers, there’s a rift between some collaborators.

While it would be opportune for most rappers to become even more popular in their careers, they have the ability to create the pathway and walk up to the offices of Nike and Jordan and then use the idea of making something from nothing. In a way, this sneaker is going to propel Yachty to another plain of existence. Because of its excellence, there should be a clearcut vision for the shoe to lift up Yachty’s status. That’s the greatness of a genre matched with fashion. That’s all.
