As a grown man, you are navigating the world and overcoming challenges with persistence and grit. While overcoming any obstacle involves ability and effort, you must also accomplish this in flair. Therefore, my dear sir, you must have a whole wardrobe hanging in your closet. You might be asking what the hell it means to have "a complete wardrobe," and to put it simply, it means that you have everything you need for every season, from classics like a denim jacket and a beautiful pair of jeans to more unique pieces like a graphic t-shirt and a wacky bow tie. Additionally, it demands that every component function as a unit for every scenario that might arise during your adult life.

Here are a few important pieces of men's apparel that will keep your wardrobe looking sharp no matter the situation.

White T-shirts in various sizes

When paired with any color of pants or worn under a suit, the simple white t-shirt is fashion's best bet. Your go-to for your regular uniform should be a crewneck, mid-weight item.

A short sleeve shirt

Short-sleeved shirts are not the same as flamboyant Hawaiian monsters. There is a time and place for these so-called party shirts, but many shirts with short sleeves come in neutral colors that go with everything and are, obviously, a lighter and more appropriate option for the summer. Choose a short-sleeve shirt with a Cuban collar for a look that is equally stylish when unbuttoned and worn with a white T-shirt underneath.

A pair of Chelsea boots

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were early users of the Chelsea boot, which gets its name from the London borough where it was initially worn. For formal dress rules, black and leather are the way to go; the shinier the better. Supple suede is available in a more casual version of the boot that looks best in tan and brown hues that go well with both light and dark denim.

A black leather belt

Don't undervalue the impact of this look; a black leather belt, accented with a gleaming silver or gold buckle, can be the focal point of a formal ensemble. And if the idea of shopping for one makes you groan, you'd be astonished at the sheer number of options available, many of which are elevated by distinctive buckle designs, tactile textures, or reversible color schemes for more whimsical occasions.

A pair of classic sunglasses

Even the most eccentric men's style heroes have a traditional pair of wayfarers, aviators, or clubmasters for more understated occasions, despite the all too real temptation to emulate Elton John's sunglasses. These look best in dark shades of tortoiseshell or black acetate, and you can add a touch of opulence by adding gold or silver hardware or a discrete designer insignia at the temples. Save the statement cat eye and matrix shapes for greater "fits" and carry this with you whenever there's a hint of sunshine in the forecast.

A black suit

The black suit is a flexible essential for any tailoring wardrobe, whether you're wearing it to a black tie affair or a funeral. There aren't many more stylish outfits than a black suit, white shirt, and black tie, but there are plenty of ways to step up your appearance, including wearing all black everything or a big pair of Derbies. Additionally, you'll probably utilize the pants a lot on their own.

A pair of black jeans

In order to preserve the rich color of a nice pair of black jeans, care must be taken as directed on the label. But the result is well worth the effort. Black jeans are as stylish and functional as legwear gets. You'll be wearing them a lot, so look for a pair with just the right amount of stretch to keep you comfy all day.

A pair of white trainers

Good white leather tennis shoes are a thing of simple beauty; they are appropriate for the pub, appropriate for the workplace, and as comfy as a pair of socks. Look for a pair with a simple, basic design and smooth, durable leather that will hold its shape. Once you've found them, treasure them and don't tamper with them.
