Blanche Deve-robe

The Golden Girls was a sitcom from the late 1980s about four women who live together in Miami during their golden years. These close friends navigate life's hurdles together, supporting each other through relationship woes, work problems, and health issues. Thirty years later, Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia continue to charm audiences and make people laugh.

One of these women, in particular, is known for her impeccable style and stunning good looks (albeit not her humility).

Blanche Devereaux is the sexy, promiscuous landlord who owns the home the girls all live in together. She is a progressive, forward-thinking woman who sets the standard for sex positivity, consent, and the destigmatization of sexually transmitted diseases. A total gem of a woman.

Being the self-avowed "biggest slut" of the group, it's only natural that Blanche would have some marvelous sleepwear. Throughout the series, these knockout robes and nightgowns make a consistent appearance (largely because the girls spend their evenings together chatting and eating cheesecake in their PJs). Blanche has been in 143 relationships and prides herself on her sexual prowess.

I mean, the woman's initials are literally B.E.D.

I missed out on these fancy nighttime looks. The Golden Girls ran from 1985-92, and I wasn't born until '93. Now here I am lounging around in sweatpants and a t-shirt. These pieces are gorgeous, and I wish they'd come back in style so I could wear them without feeling over the top or unnecessarily dressed up. I'd feel like royalty wearing these robes as I got ready for bed.

We saw this stunning piece in season five, in the episode where Blanche spontaneously decides to become a great writer (and nearly loses her mind in the process). I think this one's my favorite out of her many many many robes.

This nightgown is from the episode where Blanche is audited by the IRS. Hoping to avoid suffering the consequences for not having declared her renters on her taxes, she plans to seduce her way out of paying the government its due, but is sorely disappointed when the auditor turns out to be a woman. This is the outfit Blanche had intended to work her magic in.

I love the vivid colors on this robe. The contrast of the green and magenta is really lovely, and I adore the satiny lilac pajamas Blanche wears underneath.

This time, Blanche is trying to seduce the pediatrician who has come to check up on a baby the girls are watching, going for a look that is "alluring and yet nurse-like." This negligee is nothing short of regal, and she adds on gorgeous earrings to complete the over-the-top bedtime outfit.

Blanche is dressed to impress, and it seems to work... until the man she's attempting to seduce remarks that her outfit reminds him of something his mother used to wear. Yikes.

With a stunning contrast of teal and black, this floral robe is another stunner. I have no idea what the context of this quote is, but I'm assuming they've done something dirty to Isaac.

This is such an elegant robe. I would feel regal wearing something like this. I love the pastel colors and the way that the fabric is draped.
