LEAVE MEGHAN ALONE
If I see another article attacking Meghan Markle, I am going to lose my goddamn mind. I'm not usually this defensive over complete strangers (excluding Taylor Swift, of course), but I truly cannot take any more of the negativity surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. My blood boils every time someone takes a shot at Meghan, Harry, or one of their children.
I'm Done Waiting
It’s been a rough few days. Earlier this week, I was bouncing off the walls with laughter. But on Wednesday, my mental health took a sudden and unexpected veer into the ditch, and I've been bedbound for a solid 48 hours. Normally, I would take this opportunity to get some writing done. But my brain feels like scrambled eggs, and my mood is so low, I'm sure I could sink into the floor and never resurface.
I’m with Lindsay Rae Brown. I’m sick of pretending to have it together. I don't. My life is a dumpster fire of stupidity, bad choices, and abject humiliation. (Not saying that's Lindsay's life, but her Vocal celebrity is built on her hilarious shenanigans and embarrassing moments, and I find that inspiring.)
Miss Imperfectly Fine
I refuse to get my asshole bleached. Okay, so it's not like anyone has ever actually pressured me to get my asshole bleached (although my butt did feel a little called out by that scene in Bridesmaids), but it's the principle of the thing. Bleached assholes are a societal development that I refuse to entertain.
Pride Parade Playlist
1. Lil Nas X - SUN GOES DOWN On the last day of Pride Month in 2019, Lil Nas X came out as gay, and he's been unapologetically expressing his pride ever since. In March of this year, Nas X released the controversial video for "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)", along with this note to his teenage self:
Inspired by fellow Vocalite (I'm making that a thing) Emily Keeler's piece, "5 Music Videos to Help You Feel Just A Little Bit Better."
8 Mile Ride
Sitting atop the highest peak of a Japanese roller coaster in the year 2010, I vowed to love Eminem forever. Please, God, I prayed, if you can just get me through this trip, I will buy every Eminem song in existence.
I Was Invited on Dr. Phil
When I was in college, I wrote in to Dr. Phil. Without getting into too much detail, my dad was a gambling addict with an anger problem, and I wanted help for one of my younger sisters, who was affected the worst by our toxic family dynamic and was having serious behavioral issues.
