Introduction:

We all have dreams of soaring freely in the heavens. Flying high with the eagles, looking down as with the eyes of God. As free as a bird. Abiding in the steadfast love of God the Father, gives us the wings to soar and the freedom to do so. I write this article to share the love of God the Father with you and to give you the freedom to soar.

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

You know I am an eagle, flying around in the mountains. (Link Ray)

The sky belongs to eagles, even during storms. It is in the stormiest skies that eagles find their true calling. (Matshana Dhliwayo)

I marvel at and I am in awe of all of God’s birds. Yet, I must admit the distinguished Eagle in all her majesty is and always has been my favorite. The way she finds a high thermal and glides effortlessly. Her wings outspread catching each breath of rising air possible. She appears to me to be the epitome of peace and calm. She shows to me not to have a care in the world.

As if the Hand of God Himself is holding her safely in His heavens. Assuredly He is. God’s invisible hand of pure love holds His creation. For God is LOVE! His beloved creature is safe from harm. The eagle sings praise to God by being. Simply by being.

What does it mean to rise up on wings like eagles?

Having wings as eagles helps you soar toward the Heavens. Having complete belief and faith in Jesus Christ means you too can have the boldness and strength of a soaring eagle. And, yes the serenity of this magnificent bird of the sky is yours. Through the comfort and help within you from God’s Holy Spirit.

Reaching for the heavens is now your own walk of faith. Soaring daily toward God and His abiding love for you.

God in His Word uses the analogy of the soaring eagle to bolster your spirit. Deepen your faith and trust in Him. Your deep faith in your Heavenly Father allows you to soar far above your troubles and strife. God fully provides for your needs. Answering your faithful and constant prayers to Him. In the Name of His Son, Jesus.

Relying on God each day. Gives you complete assurance of God’s goodness. You will soar as an eagle into the open and loving arms of God!

I have watched documentaries where the camera has zoomed in on magical moments. Where the eagle is gracefully gliding on rising thermals. The air softly fluttering the feathers of the eagle’s wings. She is soaring ever closer toward God’s heavens.

The ever-watching, ever-focused eyes of the eagle catch something way off in the distance. All of a sudden. Prey is spotted. A decision is made. The wings are folded. She dives. No fear is shown. No fear is felt. So confident is she in her ability to hunt her prey. So confident in her ability to halt her dive as needed.

She slows and then halts just in time. Her talons outstretched. The prey is captured.

Such breath-taking beauty. God, the Creator designed the eagle to perfection. Predator, yes. But, also a bird of elegance and wondrous grandeur.

Many people have dreams of flying like a bird. I am greedy. I want so much more. I don’t merely want to fly. I want to fly to the giddying heights that are the realm of eagles.

I want to glide on thermals. Wings outstretched. Enjoying the view below from the eyes of an eagle. Believing that God Himself has me safely in His outstretched Hand. I will not even scratch my knee. When my flight comes to a close, He will gently place me safely back on the ground.

What an adventure. To view God’s earth through the eyes of His eagle. To feel the breath of God through my hair and on my cheek. To feel God’s Right Hand place me safely back on the ground. Blessed be the Lord our God!

May I ask what type of bird you are going to take flight with? When you are in God’s great outdoors. What magnificent bird captures your breath? Captures your imagination.

There are countless varieties of birds to choose from. All are unique and all are special in their own way. All amazingly beautiful. Which one will you be flying with today?

Or is it not only the bird’s majestic ability to fly that captures your heart and your imagination. Maybe it is her sweet and soulful song as she greets your new day.

In spring my garden comes alive at dusk and dawn with Rosellas and Lorikeets. These birds chatter and sing as they feed on the blossoms and nectar of my acacia bushes. Their songs fill my garden and my heart.

They merrily fight over which blossom is the sweetest. Merrily squabbling their day away. They have no fear. No cares. Just living for the day. Their songs are noisy and cheerful. I welcome spring each year to hear their melody.

Maybe it is brilliant and myriad of colors on the display of your chosen bird. Maybe your garden is brought alive by male birds attracting a mate. Using colors to do so. So many colors it simply takes your breath away. They are too busy “wooing” to notice you.

Or, is it the funny habits of each species.

Here in Australia, we have Bower birds. These somewhat brown and dowdy male birds attract their females by clearing a site on the forest floor. Then he busies himself collecting items to carefully place on this site. Some favor blue and have been named — Blue Bower birds. He fusses and he clears. When the site is just right. He dances. He sings. He calls for a mate.

And now to live your life as impressive as an eagle:

  • Always be prepared for what might happen in your life. Even an eagle has to search for her food, shelter and a mate. You have to plan ahead for all of your life’s needs.
  • As eagles have to be versatile and adapt as their environment alters around them. You have to be flexible and versatile when you make lifestyle decisions.
  • Learning from eagles as your mentor. She learned from others of her kind the skills needed to survive and thrive. You too have to learn from others who know more about life and living.

Now go and soar, sing and be as breathtakingly beautiful as an eagle!

You never know where your flight will take you. Your life in loving companionship with God will have times of sadness, joy and many, many blessings.

God’s right hand is holding yours all along the way.

Jesus understands all that you feel and experience. He is your shining light.

God’s Holy Spirit within you is your Comforter and Helper and never leaves you alone!

One thing I can promise you.

You need to have no fear. God’s breath is the wind beneath your wings.

His ever lasting and protecting love will guide your flight path.

You will feel God’s tender loving care in every moment of your life.

Go out there. The sky. Your life is beaconing.
