The Trial - Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka, Kajol's first web Series

The Kajol-starring courtroom drama The Trial (Disney+ Hotstar), the sophomore seasons of Foundation (Apple TV+), and The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon Prime Video) are the three major web series that are now available to stream. Unless you prefer the niche side, mainly made up of adaptations or remakes of existing media works, July is generally a dry month for TV. The Trial – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka is an Indian adaptation of Robert Michelle King’s CBS television series The Good Wife, while the other two are based on well-received books.

The Trial

Where: Disney+ Hotstar

The Trial follows the tragic story of a former lawyer named Noyonika Sen (Kajol), who is devastated to hear that her husband (Jisshu Sengupta), a dishonest judge, had been collecting sexual favors as bribes to overturn court judgments, has all eight episodes available for streaming.

The Kajol-starring courtroom drama

After a ten-year hiatus, she is forced to return to her job at the legal firm after his arrest and the immediate freezing of all accounts. She soon becomes the family’s lone provider and one of the best attorneys anybody could employ. Due to the gap in her résumé, she must begin as a junior lawyer, but that doesn’t stop her from quickly becoming a favorite in the office, especially with her employer (Alyy Khan), with whom she has a history.

Soon after, Sana (Kubbra Sait), a consultant, and Shiraj Paswan, another junior attorney, join Noyonika to assist her with cases. Unbeknownst to her, things are about to get personal when her husband, who routinely cheated on her and lied to her, asks if she would represent him in court.

Foundation season 2

Where: Apple TV+

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation book series was long regarded as unfilmable since many of its events felt like history lessons, much like Dune. Unquestionably, the collaboration of David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Josh Friedman (Snowpiercer) has produced a television extravaganza this season that explores the decline of the Galactic Empire.

Blind, Starring Sonam Kapoor, Is Now Available on Jio Cinema for streaming.

Dr. Hari Seldon (Jared Harris), who is preparing to reset the Empire in light of the impending demise of his church-like movement, is seen in the chapter, which is set more than a century after the first season’s events. In another scene, Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell) had a terrifying vision that makes her fixated on wanting to halt The Mule. This threat would manifest 150 years later, even as she flits back and forth to assist Dr. Seldon in constructing the second Foundation.

The Foundation 2 Trailer

Seldon, Gaal, and Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey) come into a colony of Mentalics with psychic abilities that threaten to change psychohistory as the Foundation enters a religious phase and spreads its faith over the Outer Reach. In the meantime, Brother Day (Lee Pace) narrowly escapes an attempted murder and is severely traumatized. Since many of the folks we first met in season 1 have passed away, this season helps us learn more about the central characters as the galactic-scale narrative deepens. Terrence Mann, Cassian Bilton, and Dimitri Leonidas are featured in Foundation season 2 as Brothers Dusk, Dawn, and Hober Mallow, respectively.

Only the first two episodes of Season 2 of Foundation are available on Apple TV+; the remaining episodes will be released every Friday until September 15.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2

Where: Amazon Prime Video

The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on the trilogy of young adult novels by Jenny Han, is primarily a coming-of-age tale that follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin’s (Lola Tung) summertime romantic exploits at Cousins Beach. The second season won’t be as lighthearted as the first because Susannah Fisher’s (Rachel Blanchard) breast cancer has returned, placing more pressure on her sons Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Conrad and Belly’s relationship is strained by the repercussions of the imminent loss, which makes him run away from home and intensifies the tragedy of season 2.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 – Trailer

To get him back, his brother Jeremiah and Belly soon set out on a road trip, intensifying the romantic relationship between the Fisher brothers and the latter as they grow closer than before. It is important to note that Susannah decided to take part in an experimental treatment to treat her cancer at the end of season 1, even though the possibilities were extremely poor (spoilers ahead), and it might have led to her demise, as described in the book.

She might survive, though, as the first season occasionally deviated significantly from the original. In season two of The Summer, I Turned Pretty, Sean Kaufman plays Belly’s older brother, Steven, while Jackie Chung plays her mother, Laurel.

The first three episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 have been released. Up to August 18, new episodes will be available on Amazon Prime Video every Friday.
