Precious Bible!

What a treasure

Does the Word of God afford!

All I want for life or pleasure,

Food and Medicine, shield and sword;

Let the world account me poor —

Christ and this, I need no more. (John Newton)

Introduction. The Bible reveals God is a living being. Almighty God is a Person.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:2, ESV)

The Holy Word of God is the true and trustworthy revelation of Almighty God. The Bible reveals to us who God is.

To have a loving, deep, personal and intimate relationship with our Father, one thing is vital.

God needs to be a living being, a person. A person able to love and dearly wanting companionship with those who love Him deeply.

But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. (Jeremiah 10:1a, ESV)

When we recall how much our Heavenly Father loves us. Independently, one by one, loves each of us. As we consider the implications this means. That the Bible is written for each of His faithful and obedient people.

That, in itself is proof beyond question, verifying God is a living being. For an idol or statue could not do such a work of wonder and love. An imaginary creature could not inspire human hands to write such words of hope and comfort.

God lives. The God of the Bible is a God of action.

The Holy Bible is the only book to ever have been written, that proves God lives.

Peter a disciple, when asked by Jesus, replied: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16, ESV)

When we learn of God through His Holy Word, we also will have the confidence of Peter.

His delight is in the law of the Lord,

and on His law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:2, ESV)

Almighty God is the living God. Active and alive in our life.

THE LIVING GOD.

When we look carefully in God’s Holy Word, we find so many examples of Him being alive, spread throughout. Israel “heard the voice of the living God” speaking from Mount Sinai.

What did our living, Almighty God reveal at Mount Sinai? They distinctly heard the Ten Commandments, which represent the very essence of God’s Holy Law. Such proof of a living God. He spoke His law to His people.

The Torah’s version is quite different from that which we have in the Bible. The Torah’s claim, is that some 3 million people heard God speak.

Yes, God is a living and active God. Only a living God can love us as our Father does.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

His mercies never come to an end.

they are new every morning.

great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV)

The Good News: God’s heart is overflowing with love and compassion. He never changes. His love we can truly rely upon as much tomorrow as today.

When we look at the complexity that makes up all creation, (nature and the entire universe) itself. This again proves God exists as a living God. Scientists and evolutionists point to the ‘Big Bang’ theory. My question for them. What or who created the Big Bang?

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So, they are without excuse. (Romans 1:19–20, ESV)

God’s Holy Word is His Book that provides mind-boggling evidence for the existence of a living God.

The miraculous creation of everything from absolutely nothing. The beauty within a single flower. The power of miracles to heal are to be read of down through the ages.

The Holy Word of God telling of our Lord actually arguing with Job. (Job 13:3) Of God parting the waters, so His people passed safely through. As they fled from the Roman soldiers. (Exodus 14:21–22) God Almighty feeding the Nation of Israel, Manna from Heaven in the desert on their exile. (Exodus 16:20)

God the Father speaking to His beloved Son, Jesus at His baptism.

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him; and behold, a voice from Heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16–17, ESV)

Prayer is simply talking to our Heavenly Father, as intimately as we speak to our father here on Earth.

By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me — a prayer to the God of my life. (Psalm 42:8, ESV)

God our Father answers our prayers. Our Heavenly Father grants us peace on our darkest days.

We feel His presence in our quiet time of prayer. Yes! Oh! Yes, Almighty God is truly alive and real. AMEN!

Only a living God could make His presence felt when we turn to Him in our prayer time.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6, ESV)

The gift of peace and harmony has healed hearts for centuries, or perhaps even longer. It is a gift of grace from a God who loves. It is a gift from the One who first created us to love Him and to be loved by Him. To experience God’s steadfast and everlasting peace is a part, an essential element of our loving relationship with Him.

This gift from our living and loving God, brings comfort and protection during difficult times.

Meaning that above all else. Our relationship with our Father must be our most important priority.

To ensure God always comes first in our life. We pray to Him, read His Holy Word and ask God the Holy Spirit for His guidance.

Almighty God’s gracious gift of peace is such a precious and highly prized bestowal. Such strength, comfort and assurance is gained. God’s Holy Word teaches that to gain His peace. We need to love our Father above all else and draw close to Him through faith and prayer.

Conclusion.

The real, living and loving God is revealed throughout His Holy Word.

Through His miraculous and awesome creation — Nature — and the entire universe.

Through the miracles He performs and recorded in the Bible.

Through the power of prayer. His very presence we feel in our quiet time with Him in prayer.

The gift of peace grants to us strength, comfort and assurance.

We have a real, living and loving relationship with our Heavenly Father.
