You’ve got a great job offer, and the only question is whether you would like to work in the office or remotely. There are benefits to both options. We suggest you combine the best of both worlds and work hybrid instead.

When working hybrid, you can take advantage of everything that working in the office offers without having to deal too much with the disadvantages as you’re not always there. The same goes for the advantages of working from home. And to avoid the disadvantages of working at home, you hop into the office.

Hybrid working is the best way to enjoy the perks of working at the office and working from home without having to deal with the downsides of both daily.

Sociability

You can surround yourself with your favorite co-workers when working at the office. Laughing about stupid jokes, sharing the latest office gossip, and getting lunch together are all the small things that make your workday a tad bit better. Even some small talk about the weather can be just what you need. At home, it will be less easier to start a spontaneous conversation.

Easy access

If you spend the day in the office and need your manager, you can walk right into their office. Want to discuss something with a co-worker? Head over to their cubicle. Need someone to complain to? Lunch with your work BFF will fix everything.

Productivity

When working from home, you can really focus on your work as it is easy to get in the zone without too many distractions. As you can decide where you will work, you can limit distractions. Besides deciding where you will work, you can also set up the perfect work environment where you know you will thrive when it comes to your work.

Extra me time

You save a lot of time when you work from home as you’re not traveling. This time can be used in many ways to benefit you personally. A few things that you can do with that extra time is:

  • stay a bit longer in bed
  • have a big (healthy) breakfast
  • get ready at your own pace
  • do some exercise
  • mentally prepare for the (work)day ahead
  • get an extra early start

This extra time can be very valuable and set the tone for the rest of your (work)day. In addition to setting the tone for the rest of your day, it can also give you an extra boost.

Comfortable clothing

Even if you don’t work in an office with a strict dress code, you still have to be dressed appropriately. When you’re working at home, you can dress however you like. You can even work in your pajamas if you feel like it. Of course, you need to wear an appropriate top if you have meetings through video call. But at least your bottoms can be super comfy. A complete suit and tie? Not today! A jacket can be matched with your favorite baseball shorts. Just make sure that you don’t stand up when the camera is still on! There is also no need to wear make-up or to shave your beard if you’re not communicating with others through video calls. Not to mention those terrible high heels that you can switch for warm fuzzy socks or nice gym shoes. Of course, there is nothing wrong with getting dolled up and dressed like you would if you went into the office. But the possibility of not having to allows you to be as comfortable as you please.

You can be yourself

There is no place where you can completely be yourself, like in your own home. Whether you want to blast some gangster rap, headbang to some metal or use your keyboard as a piano when listing to classical music. You can simply do so without your colleagues looking at you sideways or being bothered by you. You can also eat whatever and whenever you want without explaining or sharing with your nosy colleagues what you’re having for lunch.

As you can see, there are only benefits to working hybrid. It offers so many benefits that you would miss out on if you decide to work at the office full-time. Therefore if you have the chance to work hybrid, we suggest you take it.
