Douglas Benzel's story, "Orbits", skillfully conveys the feelings of nostalgia, regret, and unrequited love. The ending leaves the reader with a sense of hope and closure, even in the face of loss. We can't wait to read more of Douglas' work on Vocal.

Great idea. I do not have favorites for I like many writers here, especially in the Poets sections. Plus, I totally agree with what Mike said.
Just a point if you click on the names of everyone who has posted here, you go to their profile and find out what they are about. Apologies if this is obvious.

Sorry, I missed this! But I'm looking forward to checking out so many of these names and stories that are unfamiliar to me :) I will share this one anyway in case people are checking back. It's by Dean Hardy. I love the honest and genuine emotions he puts into each of his works. This one, just published today, speaks for itself: https://vocal.media/poets/with-half-the-town-on-fire
Hello Everyone 😊 My name is Sidney Smith I write poetry and short stories. I write a lot horror short stories, and things that lean towards mysterious other worldly phenomenon. However the stories take on multiple meanings and topics, I try to include symbolism in everything that I write, which leads the reader to have to read from beginning to end. My poetry leans towards inner thoughts and dialogue, the beauties of life, and religion. I have two series that I have been working on for a bit. One is dystopian, and the other one deals with mediumship. I will have some articles about mental health, religion, and the metaphysical very soon. I don't have a specific favorite writer that I follow on here, but I read a lot of the stories that are on the competition pages and I am always impressed. There is a story on one of the challenges for the Camp fire ghost story it made second place it's called "The Curse of the Lovers' Cabin" by Jordan Twiss. https://vocal.media/fiction/the-curse-of-the-lovers-cabin
Will just say goodbye to everyone, hope everyone got the exposure they wanted, we are all here to support each other. Apparently one of my pieces will soon be on the Vocal Resources which will be nice
Want to give a shout out to some amazing writers - JD Pernoste and Anneliese Dahl
Hi it's Loryne again. I would also like to give a shout out to Rick Henry Christopher, the co-founder of the Vocal+Assist Facebook Group. He is our resident music expert and is quite skilled in digging up forgotten songs buried beneath time. Yay! I’m glad to have made it today. Hello everyone! 1. My name is Rebecca, though I write as R. J. Rani. I love to explore imaginary worlds, so I primarily write stories set in fantastical lands. On Vocal, I create all sorts of things - from short stories to journal posts to trying my hand at poetry, with the aim of ever improving as a writer and a person. 2. Today I’d like to give Eliza Raddish a shoutout. Her story “Tell Us Again” is one of the most heartwarming stories I’ve read. She invited me straight into her world with her lovely opening. I hope you check it out! https://vocal.media/fiction/tell-us-again

Sending a little love to Jason Basaraba (JBaz): Vocal + Assist Admin Jason is a great writer and he's very versatile and the types of stories and poems that he writes. This story that I am sharing with you today is the first story I read by him. This is the one that got JBaz on to my private list of favorites. This story is so very well written. He did a great job at developing his characters that you actually build a bond with them and you feel for them. His use of descriptors throughout the story brings everything to life. https://vocal.media/fiction/two-of-a-kind-equals-a-pear
