The 5 best Disney park cocktails
If you think Disney's just for kids, here are some cocktails to make you change your mind, where to find them, and how to make them.
Yes, I'm a huge Disney fan, and believe that it's a place anyone can love. If you're not one for rides and characters, at least stick around and enjoy the cocktails. Here, we've got some of the best cocktails you'll find around the parks and where to find them.
Glowtini
The Glowtini is THE Disney cocktail. It looks great, it tastes great, and it's full of alcohol. Also, it comes with a glowing ice cube. You'll find these in most of the parks' bars and lounges. Here's what's inside:
Skyy Citrus vodka, Blue Curacao, Peach Schnapps, and pineapple juice.
Colette
This was named after the character in Ratatouille and you'll find it on Disney Cruise Lines' Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, but also Remy, the Ratatouille-themed restaurant. It's super simple, but super yummy. Here's what's inside:
Champagne, vodka, Cassis pearls, dried pineapple cubes.
Snow Leopard Salvation
A portion of the proceeds from every Snow Leopard Salvation goes to the Snow Leopard foundation, so you're not only getting a great drink, you're also helping the environment. You'll find it in the Nomad Lounge at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. Here's what's inside:
Mint, vodka, pear liqueur, lime juice, and ginger beer.
Worth Melting For
Okay, this one's non-alcoholic for the kids, but it's great nonetheless. And I'm sure you can swap out a few of the ingredients for alcoholic versions. You'll find it in Castaway Cay, Disney's private island and port of call on Disney Cruise Lines. Here's what's inside:
Passion fruit, pina colada mix, blue curacao mix, ice, and an Olaf cookie to decorate!
Caveman Punch
This one does pack a punch and is great to enjoy after a hot day at the parks. You'll find it at the T-Rex at Disney Springs and here's what's inside:
Spiced rum, banana liqueur, Peach Tree Schnapps, and tropical fruit juices.
If this still doesn't convince you to head to the parks, here's a few more ideas for cocktails fans have made at home. It's almost like a disneybound for cocktails.
Ohana Colada - Lilo and Stitch:
Can you guess what drink this is based on? I bet you haven't seen it a bright blue colour, like Stitch, before. 'Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.' So, everyone drink up and don't fall behind! Here's what's inside:
Mango rum, Malibu, and Blue Curacao
Sleep Cycle - Sleeping Beauty
'Make it pink! No, make it blue!' You can have both in this gorgeous cocktail! Here's what's inside:
Kinky, Hypnotiq, vodka, and Sprite
Maleficent - Sleeping Beauty
The black and purple of this cocktail truly compares it to Maleficent. However, the taste isn't as evil as she is! Here's what's inside:
Black vodka, grape schnapps, and apple Pucker.
Steamboat Willie's Bourbon Milkshake - Mickey Mouse
Steamboat Willie is of course, Mickey Mouse's debut appearance, so we can't miss him out! This one's super easy to leave out the alcohol for the kids while keeping up the great taste. Here's what's inside:
Vanilla ice cream, bourbon, Karo syrup, whipped cream, and mini Reese's and Oreos for that signature Mickey look!
The parks will be reopening soon, so it won't be long until you can get your hands on one of these made by those who know how. But until then, you can enjoy them from home on a Zoom call with the family or a quiz night with your friends.
See, anyone can enjoy Disney if you visit the right places!
