Bars across the world are as diverse as their patrons; Dive bars, Speakeasies, Cocktail lounges, and bars that capitalize on short-lived trends too ridiculous to name.
10 Best Hidden Speakeasy Bars in the World
From Hong Kong and Buenos Aires to Los Angeles and New York, modern speakeasies take the idea of prohibition era secret bars and spin them into havens for aficionados of craft cocktails. While the 8th Amendment made criminals of every patron, these days clandestine libations just make memories for customers lucky enough to get in.

Going out to the bars is usually a good time for you and your friends. You spend a couple of bucks to get tipsy enough and go over and talk to that hot girl you've been checking out all night. Little did you realize that you are actually shit-faced. You creep her out, won't leave her alone, and now you're stumbling around trying to play it cool. We've all done it!

Many of us love to head out for a few drinks after work for a quick refresher with coworkers or want to simply get a casual beer at an easygoing place with friends. You don't always have to drop so much money on pricy alcohol in the city or even in a nearby bar. There are certainly bars constructed to fit your needs when it comes to fast, cheap booze. And a lot of us love going out casually if we're not into the whole fancy lounge scene.

As a nightclub owner I was always interested in maximizing profits. You pay rent for an entire month, but you are only open 2 days of the week, so what do you do with the other 5 nights? In an ideal world you would be open all 7 days of the week but how many people really want to go out on a Sunday night in the middle of winter? Not a lot. How many young adults want to go out at 10 at night on a weekday? Not a lot. Without a kitchen and full food menu you couldn’t compete with restaurants and pubs during the day. So, I offered my club space to anyone that wanted to work together on an off night and we would make it work.
Adonis McManusPublished 7 years ago in ProofConfessions of a Nightclub Owner: Introduction
A long time ago in a city not so far away I had a dream of owning a nightclub. Not just any nightclub but an incredible nightclub full of beautiful women, well dressed men, the biggest international DJs and the most sophisticated club experience in town. Like I said that was the dream, but a small, old, underground dive bar was what I ended up owning. Why? It was cheap, the price was right, and I couldn't say no. I was young and impatient and I didn’t want to be the old creepy bar owner sitting in the dark corner every night smoking a fake Cuban cigar and hitting on every 19-year-old that walked into the bar. Anyways there I was a 24-year-old "nightclub" owner hitting on every 19-year-old and I had no clue what was in store for me but I thought I knew everything and I had no idea these 3 years would change my life permanently.

Let me start off this article by making it VERY clear that I am a teetotaler. That is, I NEVER drink alcohol. I don't stop anyone else from doing it, but it is not my thing. According to Wikipedia, "Teetotalism is the practice or promotion of complete personal abstinence from alcoholic beverages. A person who practices (and possibly advocates) teetotalism is called a teetotaler (plural teetotalers) or is simply said to be teetotal." For me, alcohol has more drawbacks than benefits. People get into auto accidents. Other can't control their emotions or bladders. And others get sick or generally act stupid. I can do all of that WITHOUT imbibing in alcohol. Thank you.
